Why not

He’s been out of the program since December. A lot can happen

Will he be eligible? I’ve never seen a promising prospect sabotage himself as well as his did outside of Cecil Collins.

I wonder does he really want to be at LSU? He already quit and committed to a rival. Now he’s back again.... maybe. The drama doesn’t ever stop

I'm pulling for Arik big time. Happy to see he has a plan in place to get his academics in order and his future on track. Hopefully he accepts all the resources LSU can and will provide to help him achieve his goals.

I do know that. It doesn't take a psychologist to see it just based on his behavior.

Sounds exactly what someone else said on another site. You're so good at that

LSU must have tutors working 24/7 trying to get him straight.

He deserves a second chance. Hopefully he makes the effort to handle business and get his life back on track. We should all be rooting for him.

Not sure it matters all that much. He’ll be the best TE on the roster by a country mile the moment he steps back on the practice field.

Appreciate the info as always. I hope he makes it back, he was pretty good for us when he suited up so I’ll gladly take him back. You can never have too many weapons.

Would be a nice addition, even he doesn’t see the field until mid-season.

Dude Gilbert is nowhere near Cecil Collins level of self sabotage. Most of Gilbert’s story is still yet to be written. Even if he doesn’t get eligible for this season his career is far from over. It’s a bad comparison.

I’m rooting hard for Gilbert. He can play, and at the end of the day, you want to field the best team possible. Obviously the coaches and players want him back. All of you supposed “fans” who don’t like him now because “boohoo he quit the team and hasn’t explained himself” are a bunch of uninformed pussies. He doesn’t owe any of y’all shite.

If he makes back just for a win over Bama, it’s worth it. Any more is Awesome.

He’s made his decision and is returning. Just has to hit the ground running in the classroom if he wants to have a shot to touch a field this season

I hope the very best for him...

Assuming he's been working out. I don't think many people have seen him the last ~5 months
