On a scale of 1-10, how surprised are you about the mediocrity of this LSU baseball team?

10 being totally shocked.
I’m about 8.
Felt like Jay Johnson brought in some key pieces. I didn’t necessarily think we’d be as good as last year, but I had no idea the decline would be this steep.

Expected to struggle with FLA, Ark, Tenn, Vandy front loaded. MSU series was a shock but was on the road. The team just can’t get swept going forward.

Not surprised. After watching the team live 4 times pre-SEC I said at the midway point of SEC Play we would be sub .500. All the signs were there and we played a garbage schedule.

About a 4. I expected us to win 2 vs MSU but I didn't think we were gonna win the UF series. We're obviously not playing well right now but there's still a lot of unrealized potential on this roster. I think they'll get it going in the 2nd half of conference play, but I don't think anyone should expect them to be as good as last year's team

an 8 and you call yourself a prophet??? JK...I'm probably at an 8 as well. The offense is about what we were led to expect this early. Pitching giving up 9 runs on average in the SEC is concerning and I'll be honest, I didn't see that coming. Was thinking we would win or lose a lot of games 3-4

It's still early. We're just now facing SEC competition, so I like to reserve my opinion for closer to the conference mid-season. I have confidence that if this season can be fixed, JJ will fix it. If not, he'll bring in the personnel to do so. It could be something as simple as the "full belly" syndrome, which is quite common after a championship season.

6, but I was also confident that the back end of the schedule would allow us to figure it out. Figuring it out on the back not only scares the shite out of some national seed having to host us, but it also gives us something heading into next year. FWIW I don’t think we lose last night’s game later in the season. The only way from here is up, let’s just hope we stay healthy and I think there is a run to be had with this team.

Thought the bats would have a big drop off last year but expected the overall pitching to be better (top heavy with Skenes last year). They’ve made too many mental mistakes in the field and on the base paths.
