Yep. I'm bummed Trinidad played as good as he's capable and LSU didn't play its best game. It happens. Losing sucks always. Move on.

I think its very hard for some people to comprehend that sometimes there's just not much you can do to stop an offense. We were on the opposite side of that for most games in 2023 with [Redacted] and 2019 with Burrow. Both of those teams faced good/great defenses and still carved them up. Not saying Chambliss is that level, but he has a lot of the same qualities and has weapons on the outside.
The more concerning thing for me was Leavitt and o-line play. Both played like hot arse most of the game

He's the most clutch QB in college football. There were too many easy access throws in the first half, but every time Ole Miss has needed a score from him in their closest game going back to the Sugar Bowl, Trinidad has led them to a scoring drive every single time. LSU, UGA, and Miami are all very good defenses, but he erases good defense when it matters most.

No one is saying Ole Miss and Chambliss weren't a good offense. Where the frustration comes in is that LSU's defensive approach clearly wasn't working in the first half, yet there was little to no adjustment, leading to 24 points. LSU obviously did make some adjustments to the approach in the second half, which led to a turnover and stops. Given that LSU was able to find a defensive approach that did have some success, the logical question is why the hesitancy in making an adjustment in the first half when it is was very clear what LSU was doing wasn't working? Perhaps if that adjustment is made earlier, OM only gets 17 points in the first half which gives the offense a small enough margin to overcome in the second half.

He had an average game against Miami. Went 23/37 for 277 yards and 1 TD. Only got 7 rushing yards as well. Miami only sacked him once in the game.
The difference in that game was that Miami took advantage of being on the field, they kept the ball away from OM for as long as possible. TOP for the game was 41:22 to 18:38. Trinidad could just not get into a groove because just about everytime Miami had the ball they would keep it for a long time and wasted very few of those possessions. But to do that you have to play extremely efficiently offensively, which Miami did that game and we did not Saturday night. Despite all that, Miami still only won by 4 on a nuetral field

I think the crux of the issue for a lot of people is that they didn't even try to make it hard for Chambliss in the first half.
Just kept giving him easy throws to make and leaving guys running wide open on 3rd down like when Matt House was the DC.
He picked us apart in the first half in large part because our strategy was awful, and that falls on coaching. I think he was 9/9 at one point on 3rd down?

He isnt better than we think. He is a good college qb. He is NOT a hot prospect for the NFL.

I agree with this and will pile on. It was sheer ineptness on Baker's part that allowed the TD before the half.
OM was outta TOs, 3rd and 3, w/ 11s on the game clock. Baker should've dropped all 11 players into coverage.

Obviously we have better players on the team and I am very concerned that the coaches haven't been able to spot that talent during practice.
Charlie Wiess? Pfftt. There are 15-20 people on here that would clearly know how to call a better game by making offensive adjustments.
And the defense? Baker can’t even figure out all he needed to do was adjust the defense. Again, half this board saw that, make adjustments and it shuts down Ole Miss.
I was also surprised that Kiffin hasn’t seen the second string QB is clearly better and would have thrown for 300 and run for 100.
All they had to do was make adjustments. It’s that simple, but our coaches never thought of doing that in a timely manner. I sure hope Kiffin reads this board, sees how simple this is to fix, and does it.
