bullshite again Ree. You tell me how a team that is in the top 4 of the CFP committee rankings and a preseason top 5 the following year is a rebuild? It's the dumbest thing ever. If you want to say it needs to be rebuilt into a national championship contender, we can have that discussion. But, a coach taking over a team THAT that talented is in no way in a rebuild.

Everything doesn't have to be an extreme.

LSU signed or tried to sign a lot of OL and DL and LBs

Decency bias dictates that Les didn’t sign those players because we had a few classes where Chavis and Brick didn’t do anything.

He hired Steele and o in 2015 to change that.

In 2015 LSU was in the CFP rankings and was a 10 win team with the McNeese game. The OM and Arkansas losses are coaching losses, not because of talent. In 2016, they were preseason top 5, and the losses to Wisconsin and Auburn were coaching losses and not talent

While you aren't wrong, pretty much any team LSU plays outside of Alabama, you could say the loss is because of coaching and not talent. And when it comes to Bama, usually it's both.

MSU, Troy, ND, and Florida were all less talented than the LSU teams they beat.

Alabama typically recruits between 12 and 14 players every year for the OL, DL, LB and TE. They fill the other positions with DB's, RB's, QB's and WR. He used to use walk on kickers until he realized the importance. He does not fill the positions with a designated long snapper.

LSU with the past offensive scheme signed way too many WR and TE considering they only used 2 WR's most of the game time.

To summarize BAMA's OL and front 7 defensively have always been better. The skilled positions other than QB I actually believe we were equal or better most years.

O is trying to beef up our recruiting for OL and give him some credit there but Bama is getting better players at OL still.

The jury is still out for sure with O but I look for a good season only because we have a very good defense. If this offense stalls again and we don't put up the numbers the ADMIN will have to make a decision.

Would people stop spewing this bullshite about Les not recruiting lineman? Here are his last 4 years...

No he didn’t. Cullota said that.

In this story, numbers on each recruiting class. One that stings? The 2015 class, where 39% of the signees have already transferred or been dismissed.

From the 2014-2016 classes, only 32 signees (44%) remain on the team right now.

It's a narrative some push because most people aren't willing to go back and check the numbers. I've done it before as well (gone back and checked the numbers).

They just aren't going to respond and will just repeat the same bullshite the next time this topic comes up.

The quality of the defensive line was a bit down last year in comparison to previous years IMO. But, thanks to RB10 who dug up some posts from last year, Ree himself was pumping an article from Dandy Don about LSU having it's deepest defensive line in years before last season, an article about LSU having the 3rd best O-line in the SEC last year and a post questioning if LSU would have the highest scoring offense in the SEC last year? But, after embarrassing losses, it's all of a sudden a rebuild.

Was the roster perfect? No, if it was, the previous coach probably doesn't get fired. But, it was in no way in need of an overhaul as some make it out to be and there was no need to change a losing culture like a coach would need to do in a true rebuild. That was the point all along.

lane kiffin

There was an article about when bama hired Saban, and he told the AD on the plane something like "there may be better coaches out there, but no one will out recruit me".

After Jimbo and Herman fell through, I was all aboard the Kiffin pain train.

He's a pompous a-hole, but that may be something LSU needs at this point.

Intrigued is a very good use of words. I would be also, but his off the field antics would cause me great concern as well.
