The NCAA in a nutshell: We know the RPI is so screwed up, but let’s continue to use it to select the schools for the Regionals.

Looks like UC-Irvine got dicked the most, not even making the field. They kicked the shite out of the Pac-12 teams they played. 18-6 road record also. Good RPI. They should be in.

Dumb question as I am not following, but when will the TV scheduling and game times release?

Yeah I agree with that. They know the RPI is flawed and that's what they have. But how about dive a little deeper and look at some other stuff too.

South Carolina store a regional host from Campbell.

LSU handed Central Connecticut State 25% of their losses this year
Fun fact... Central Connecticut State just played a home & home football series with Southeastern Louisiana... SLU dominated both games

I'm not sure how fun that fact was.

That’s a very favorable regional and the SR matchup isn’t bad either.

Here’s my takeaways here
1) LSU still holds clout….not a bad draw for regional or SR
2) South Carolina got punished mightily for hosting a regional ??

Looks like we got set up to go to Omaha if we just show up and play. And it’s awesome Florida and SC will have to play each other if they both get out of their regionals.

What did Campbell do that impressed you so much? Their only weekend series against Q1 was taking 2 of 3 from ULL. To their credit, they did schedule a lot of quality midweek matchups, but they had the advantage of being able to throw better arms in those games given the weakness of their conference.

UC Irvine got hosed. They should be in over Arizona or Oklahoma.

Good UC Irvine can get lost. I always hated their small ball bullshite.

Campbell's stadium only holds just over 1k (even fewer seats). It's also in BFE and there aren't hotels to support teams much less fans. I doubt they were ever seriously considering hosting.

Tulane is a DANGEROUS #4 seed. They're playing the best baseball in the land, at this point in time, and they have a serious Tiger chip on their shoulder-- don't like the matchup.
Oregon State has been a big Tiger headache in years past. I know 2018 was Corvallis, and CPM was in charge, but I don't trust that team.
Final analysis: if Tigers advance through the regional, they're in great shape to go Omaha
