I thought it was the end to our football program.

Told my father it would set back LSU Football for 20yrs.

I'm a dumbass.

Joe’s performance, to this point in the season, has simply been amazing to watch. Coach O landed the guy and gets credit for doing so. Beating Bama and thereby being set to win the west after yrs of disappointment speaks volumes for the players and staff.

Shutting Saban up with his, you can sign with LSU but know we wil beat you when we play, is something I will enjoy immensely!!!!

I still believe O is 100% reliant on his hires, and while it works when he makes good ones, see Brady, I still fear what happens if changes start to be made, that's inevitable though.
ALL head coaches at major or high-level coaches are.

A head coach is only allowed 5 visits... CFB starts and ends with recruiting. A HC is quite dependent on those coaches recruiting ability.

A HC can only coach so many players. A HC doesn't have the time to focus in on the 22 starters, much less 120 kids. A HC has to coach his coaches, they coach the players. If your coaches lack the ability to communicate, no matter how good (or bad) your HC is it will show.

A practice, including film room, for the most part, is a bunch of groups of people doing their own thing. Some of it is everybody together running plays. But not the majority of it. Again, without the assistants (and non-coaching staff) those won't run well.

It wasn't just towards him. You and your group would bash anyone that was positive on the direction of the program

My thought process was he underperformed the two previous and two subsequent OM coaches. And only one coach ever won a natty after being fired from a previous gig.

After his first month I thought "man, this is going to be even worse than I expected".

Even this past offseason I thought we fired 9-3 to get 9-3.

But there's no longer any justification for being an O negative.

Eating some crow. Never thought he would beat Saban when he was first hired. What really pissed me off was firing Canada and promoting E to OC when we’ve seen before he couldn’t get it done against Bama. Brady has been a game changer and you gotta give O a lot of credit for that hire.

I was pissed when we hired the "p.e. coach" that I thought O was. NEVER IN MY LIFE have I been so happy to be so wrong about something, because I LOVE LSU. The man has won me over. However, we must realize he has won zero hardware yet, though things are looking great this year in that department. Also, coaching is a fluid situation. You have never truly "done it". He has to maintain elite performance at a place like LSU.

Let’s see if he can do what Les couldn’t and beat them again after their inevitable mulligan. I’ll even start the crow on a slow simmer so it’s ready to eat.

If he can get by Ole Miss in Oxford, then I may start to come around a little on Coach O.

IN, I was not happy about hiring O and 2017 seemed to confirm my fears

That said I'm happy to eat crow on this one and must admit I was wrong as hell

Your defensiveness only speaks to how simply ridiculous your comments have been the last 2 seasons.

Take some notes from these other guys and just know when to shut up.

Joe Brady is the next billy Gonzales

Downvotes don’t lie on this one, you dope:

But the reality is the team underachieved in O’s first two seasons and will likely be right back to 3 and 4 loss seasons next year when Urban Meyer’s QB is gone which we only got due to a NSD clusterfrick.

O will live in LSU history for this season and rightfully so, but that doesn’t mean he is untouchable for the rest of his tenure.

If he gets us to another NY6 Bowl next year I’ll be a full fledged believer in him as the long term answer for this program, otherwise this is just the greatest player in LSU history lifting us to the promised land.

How ironic that you’ve come up with a new meaning for “Next Year U”

Post of the Year:

2016- Happy he kept the ship afloat
2017- Was disgusted we hired our DL coach who failed at Ole Miss. loss to Troy put him on a very hot seat
2018- Won some BIG games, NY6 bowl, got me to buy in with skepticism.
2019- I’m all in, no questions asked. He has proven time and time again he is the right guy for us.
