Flynn to Byrd

I am sitting in my seats I can see the clock 30 seconds. For some reason it took forever to snap the ball. Matt Flynn throws to Byrd and he Catches the ball with 1 second and clock runs out and LSU beats Auburn on the last play.

Yep, that's it. I do not know why but that's the play. I guess I can't believe it took 30 seconds to run the play. I thought we had a few more plays to run with 30 seconds.

Until 2020 we had season tickets since the 70's and this is the play that I always think of.

Actually, the clock didn't run out on that play. There was time for the kickoff after the touchdown.

Must have been the late 70s, otherwise you would always remember Bert Jones to Brad Davis on the last play of the game to beat Ole Miss, 17-16.

But yes, I remember Flynn to Byrd as well. I thought we were playing for the winning FG but it was just Miles' poor clock management that allowed the clock run down to that final play.

Actually if replay had been used there would have been two maybe three seconds left on the clock.

Basketball, 1986 in the tourney against Memphis State in the PMAC. (Wasn't the PMAC yet, but still...) I still think we were the lowest seeded team to ever make it to the final 4. I was a senior. My Chi-O girlfriend's mother hooked us up with mid-court seats way up in the upper deck. Tip-in at the end for the win? All I remember is hauling arse from the UD, jumping the scorer's table and getting cloths-lined by a huge state trooper. Those were the days.

He caught the Ball with 1 second. I don't remember anything after that. Or maybe when I looked at the clock it went to 1 second. They could have put time on. I don't remember much other than the celebration

Was an insane hit. But MSU earlier that year was his best game as a Tiger. From the PR with the PP7 windmill to the goal line stand, he was complete money that game.

That first LSU touchdown in the ‘19 Bama game - Burrow to Chase.
I laugh and cry watching that play because it was what we had waited to see for years.
It was a thing of beauty and made me realize we were as good as we thought we were.

I do believe the 2003 national championship ended on a punt.

And if I am correct, our deep snapper and shyrone Carey got caught selling their ticets.

Think about that backup deep snapper screwing up that snap. …..I believe that wa the case.

Anthony Wilson loose ball fall-away off the glass at buzzer. Some fond memories of that team I'll never forget.

Whenever I die, it will be 7-10 days earlier than God's original life's plan, because of that play.

You are correct about this game ending with us punting.

You are also correct about the deep snapper being a backup.

I was lucky enough to score 2 tickets in the LSU lottery for the game. I got to the dome early to watch the deep snappers warming up among other things. I was terrified that would be the difference in the game. I am glad that I don’t remember the back up deep snapper’s name.

It’s a great play but I was 9 years old for the Earthquake game & I will forever remember that play of all plays. Hudson to Fuller on 4 & goal. I even remembered the 3rd down call which was the exact same play but they called Fuller out of bounds.

Couple things not discussed about that play…

Hester absolutely stoned an Auburn linebacker blitzing. If Flynn is sacked who knows what happens. Did we have a timeout?

The score put us up 5 and Miles elected to kick an extra point instead of going for 2 to go up 7. If Auburn returns the kickoff for a touchdown it would have gone down as the most idiotic decision ever.

Nothing will replace the '59 Halloween punt return.

2/3 the way up the north end zone in direct line with his run. Pandemonium
