Next year will be his third year and will be draft eligible. Something people aren’t considering is his ability to declare after next year. It’s not unthinkable to think that he could go in the draft and be considered as a better pro prospect than JD. I think it’s unlikely that he goes but it’s possible that LSU can lose both. If Nuss gets considerable playing time in a dual QB type system, the opportunity for him to go, if he gets a good draft grade, is a real possibility.
Have you seen the number of top notch QB's that are going to be in college ball in 2023. One of the best years for college QB's in decades. There are going to be lots of QB's taken in the 2024 NFL draft and some very good ones that can be taken in Rounds 2 to 3.

I mean, a huge Tsunami could roll over the US and kill us all, but I don't feel the need to post about it.

The only way Nussmeier gets drafted NEXT year is, he takes the job and puts up Burrow-type numbers.
And frankly, I would suspect that his dad would STILL advise him to wait and develop more in college.
Doug Nussmeier was a QB for the Saints. He had the best arm on the team. He was never 'developed', that doesn't happen much in the NFL. You're either ready and play, close to ready and get groomed a season or 2 (a fairly rare thing now), or you're a bust and journeyman.
That last option is nice as a fallback, but all options are still there for Nuss.

Except for the Walker blowing up at Bama thread, I would agree.
Lots of drugs around these days...

If he declares means he took a massive leap in development and we won a NC. I'll take it.

People’s reactions to the OP is pretty ignorant. A lightning in the bottle season is possible but Nuss is a later physical development qb prospect so he probably needs another year of seasoning and growth. I’m not gonna scoff at OP for the discussion point though.

The threads are getting more & more insane, wish baseball season would hurry up & start, I think we really need a break from football...

ok and if so, we’ll get a stud transfer portal guy and roll. no worries.

what we really need is common sense transfer portal legislation

Are you seriously worried he will go pro without even being the starter? Damn you gotta relax.

Nuss is a first round prospect after he gets a full season of playing time. Elite arm strength and quick release, reminds me of Matt Stafford.

I'm actually draft eligible as well, do you think the combine scouts have a vhs player for my 04 senior highschool highlights?

He has 8 meaningful quarters of film...one thing is for certain he is not going Pro after the 2023 season if he is not starting next year.
Holy crap some of these takes are getting whacky.
