My only concern with Nuss is can he improve on his weak points which I believe is stepping up in the pocket to throw knowing u will get drilled and running when that’s what the defense is giving you.

Burrow’s problem was holding on to the ball too long and JD’s problem was looking to run to soon IMO. Hesitant to take a hit was NOT of weakness of Burrows and Daniels. Imo that is Nuss’ biggest weakmess.

Ridiculous. Let's see how good he'd do with an LSU schedule. And for some reason this board doesn't know what an RPO offense is. It's baffling at how this is repeated on here and most of the people don't even know how an RPO offense is ran. Not a lot of football IQ on here that's for sure. I think you got your concepts mixed up.

LOL....he had exactly 2 sacks through about 7 games
To insinuate his mobility has anything to do with this fact is unbelievably delusional

better accuracy than Burrow his first year starting, by several points.

If Nuss comes back, he will be preseason AA and in the top 2 or 3 heisman favorites
This is the most insane thing I’ve read all season

Quick six was mental error when committed by Nuss but not for Burrow?

Nuss has thrown more picks in his first year as a starter than Burrow and JD combined.

Right. Those do not account for multiple boneheaded plays he has committed but continue you straw man argument by all means. He frequently makes a bad play worse. He has to stop that. He could also run when that is the thing to do. The run game has been MIA for the most part and the absence of Dellinger has made remaining in the pocket untenable.

To that end, the game plans have adapted poorly to these exigencies. The receivers outside Taylor and Anderson are afterthoughts.

One game, Nuss looks like Joe Burrow and the next, he looks like Lowell Narcisse.

His career numbers are really close to TJ Finley.

I want the guy to be Heisman contender but honestly he just isn't.

You can say that Burrow and Daniels had huge leaps in their 2nd starting year at LSU and that's true.
However Nuss's numbers in the year prior are far worse than Burrow and Daniels in their first year.

Too much Kool Aid. The kid at Tulane is better than Nussmeier in every aspect in running a RPO designed offense.

I love how some of you idiots think. Who are the receivers? Who are the receivers going against? What are the limitations of the offense?
If Malik Nabers or Brian Thomas Jr were on this team, Nuss would have 4500 yards passing. He has zero receivers that can get open or separation. He has one, who is his best, drops the ball every three or four passes.
You guys act like he won’t improve or hasn’t improved in any aspect of his game. That is simply untrue. Playing the position is a lot more about what’s between the ears than arm talent and running the football.
Why has the run game been more effective the last two weeks?
The receivers have to get open. They also have to be able to help their quarterback.
Again, I’ll point to Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and several other quarterbacks that have been and are still successful and they don’t run the football.

The best we could hope for if Nuss stays is a second year as starter “light coming on” like Burrow and Daniels. The problem with that is that I think Nuss has actually regressed from the beginning of the season to now, so that hope is kinda counterintuitive.

BIG TIME....and its not close.

What metric are you using? And are you taking into consideration Tulane playing the 64th SOS vs LSU playing the 6th SOS?

More TDs? Nuss 23 Passing, 4 Rushing vs Mensah with 18 Passing, 1 rushing.

Better QBR? Nuss 78.2 vs Mnsa 76.8
Fewer Ints? Mensa 4 vs Nuss with 11 8

Better passer rating Mensa @ 169.0 vs Nuss @ 138.2

Or perhaps you're just taking this opportunity to shite on the LSU starting QB? Yeah, I think that's it.

Also, LSU doesn’t have any receivers who can consistently complete catches on 50/50 balls (except maybe Mason Taylor). All others are very inconsistent, even on good, reasonably easy, catchable throws.

How TF do you know that when the season isn’t over yet? Not a very high bar IMO.

Nuss is currently at 3 for all time passing yards in a season by an LSU QB. He will probably pass Jayden this weekend

Among qualified QBs, he's 15th in the SEC in rating. 2nd most INTs. Near the bottom in efficiency (7.5 yards/pass). Bottom half in completion %

Truth is his yardage #'s are solely a function of LSU having the worst rushing attack in the entire conference. They've thrown the ball way more than everyone else. His other stats leave a lot to be desired for how much attempt volume there is

Everybody has this boner for Tulane.

You know their biggest win is against Navy right?

They lost to both schools they played that…you know… where football is a thing?

Nussmeier would win the damn Heisman against Tulane’s schedule.

Eff Tulane.
