We lost all those guys and it will hurt but with what we have returning and coming in the portal we will be a great team.

Our pitching staff should be really deep again

This seems way to familiar to the 2019 NC football team - majority of offense / defense got drafted , coaches moved on , next year was horrible.

I think I trust the coach that was talking about 2024 already in his celebration speech a bit more than the man who chased big tit blondes all offseason

We are starting this already? We just won a National Championship. Maybe Magician2 can console you brother?

Me too, but realistically, we cannot expect to have nearly as good a team as last year. Sure, CJJ will go to the portal, but he does not have the foundation he had last year with Morgan, Crews, Beloso, and Dugas. Those guys raked all year. This year he has Pearson and Travinski (both of whom he had last year) to go with White.

Can we, I don’t know, let our number 1 freshman class from last year develop some this summer and fall before we start saying what we don’t have for next year.

I mean, we had 2 generational players and the best defensive 1st baseman in the country so there will be a drop off, but the sky isn’t falling.

Not starting anything, the question was what does next year look like with current roster not drafted and incoming freshmen. We’re replacing a lot of production on arguably the most decorated team of all time. Do I think the current makeup is how it will look in February or even August? No. But going forward with the roster as it stands could cause concern. I have full faith in CJJ, but that wasn’t the question.

I guess the question I have is, what concerns? And not about who we lose, but who -- among those slated to return already -- are giving you cause for concern? Do we not have the makings of a solid pitching rotation? Are we weak on relief pitching? Is our middle infield lacking in defense? Do we have holes in our lineup with weak bats?

Ok thank you sir. I haven't seen anything about this player yet. Will have to look further into who he is when I get a chance.

Relax. We also have a pitching staff with 5 guys who got college world series experience, more than most all the other teams we will face.

You are returning a lot of exceptional talent on this team especially freshmen who were put in spots this past year that they were not supposed to be in and gained priceless in game seasoning.

You cannot punish this team because good players left, you look at what you have and what everyone else has and I see potential for a top 10 team.

We are still going to be very, very talented. We'll likely never have 2 players on the same team as talented as Crews and Skenes, but we will still be a very good ball club next year. I think pitching staff could be deeper (albeit lacking Skenes dominance on Friday) and potentially fewer weak spots in the lineup.

Young baseball players get their reps in Fall practice and early season non-conference games. Young football players get their reps in Spring and Summer practices and a few cupcake games in September/October. COVID robbed the 2020 LSU football team of a good portion of Spring and Summer practices while the SEC went to a 10 game ALL SEC schedule. Losing a Wes Johnson isn't in any way comparable to losing Dave Aranda and Joe Brady.

2020 was still a very talented team. The coach let the train fly off the tracks because he was an immature imbecile.

I would be concerned if there was another team in the nation that had a Paul Skenes, a Dylan Crews, and a Tre' Morgan on their roster for 2024, but none do, so I think we'll be OK.
