He's not a mercenary. He really needed a home, because Notre Dame's depth at the position made it hard for him to return. He already has his degree.

He seems like the kind of guy that will work hard to earn the respect of his teammates. Happy he's at LSU.

This isnt "Kiffen" choosing JT over Jack. Jack would easily start over JT. Jr is a depth piece, at best. The Bucs have until next Sunday at 3 to make their final cuts.

Lane already decided Tuihalamaka is better. I trust his judgment over you armchair coach rantards

You must be a special kinda stupid if you think this is some either or thing with Lane.

You think after spending $40M+ on a roster and facilitating a TRO for 15+ athletes they're gonna stop at 1 DE?

We are, to borrow a poker term, pot committed at this point

These 2 aren't even the same type of player.

According to Brian Driscoll from Irish Illustrated , JrT is another pass rush specialist who isn't known for his ability to set the edge in the run game.

It will come down to if Jack makes the Bucs, period end of discussion. If not, id expect to see him in BR the next day.

He's already on record as feeling he has unfinished business here. And he is ab as tight as can be with Whit and the boys. Plug n play on day 1.

Bryan Driskell (not Brian Driscoll) is not Irish Illustrated, and while I generally respect most (not all) of his opinions, you’re either misinterpreting him, misrepresenting him, or Driskell is just wrong on this (I haven’t heard his opinion yet on this to know which it is). I promise you, JT is really good against the run, keeping contain, staying in assignment, etc., and not the guy you want to rely on when it’s, “hey, it’s 3rd-and-10, don’t worry too much about keeping proper assignment, just go get the quarterback.” Still a valuable player in any regard.

Thanks for your perspective

Here's the clip in question

LINK

Said he was a situational pass rusher specialist who can drop into coverage. That he started as a LB and was a victom of ND's DE depth.

"Built like a stout edge rusher but that's not really his game" was the exact quote.

6"2 255 not bad though. Maybe he can pick up some run stopping chops under our DL coaching leadership
