That's a big if considering everything we've heard about this o-line in camp.

Alleva and Orgeron truly have killed the expectations of this program then.

Could you tell if either or both of the QBs were going against the 1's?

And was it situational or just the typical back and forth like we see in the spring games?

Yes, it is a grim thought to imagine 8 & 4, and I'm not wanting to think about it. I do not want a coach that can't get us 10+ each year. I simply look at the benchmark, which is 11+ each year (we all know who that is), and then I look at resources, and I decide what I feel LSU should be. 10 needs to be the floor.

And I didn't set these stakes this high. In the year 2000, Emmert and LSU set up college football with the highest stakes ever, officially turning it into a business. Then it just got worse and worse. Now we got the benchmark at around $9 Mill a year plus assistant coach's salaries, which is good for 11 & 1 or better EVERY season. Once we add up the salaries of LSU Staff and head coach, and I compare that total to the benchmark, I derive what I believe lsu should be, and again, it comes to 10 & 2 or better EVERY year.

Lol
why are you laughing? If Brennan was an SEC QB, Orgeron wouldn't have gone desperately looking for a transfer.

I simply don't understand this board's refusal to look logically at things.

So if LSU goes 7-5 this year... a record that hasn't happened since Dinardo

2008 was a 7-5 regular season. Bowl game got us to 8 wins.

This is a point I think People need to consider bowl games

7-6 is different than 8-5.

That’s bad news for when we eventually face off against Alabama

Yeah. I have really bad memories of the 2016 game where you could tell Saban was content to win a low-scoring game, knowing that O was going to try to ride the defense and not take any chances.

No matter how good the defense is, you’re not shutting good teams out very often.

Offense, I fear this is the least talented we've been in quite some time simply because of the running backs.

We have a decent QB and quite possibly the best 2 freshman WR in the country. We will just need to throw the ball a lot more than we are accustomed to. We simply won’t know where we are at until we play a few games.

We have some better RBs than most teams. Ole miss has been good on Offense the last few years with absolutely nobody at RB.

Yes, this LSU Offense is going to be creative and aggressive and is going to score points.

Every year the offense struggles and every year we claim it’s because of the defense. Yet other offenses find ways to move the ball against us...

sorry but this really comes off as whining. who gives a frick about "every year". ALL that matters is this year. and the defense is ALWAYS ahead of the offense in august (that is, if the defense is worth a damn). there is much more coordination and quality execution required on the offense side of the ball than the defense. and offensive failures show up in the stats; where a defensive misque or missed tackle, etc does not.

It was “at the beginning of spring”

That date the defense is ahead of the offense keeps getting later.

We agree sir about these scrimmage stats. The offense is usually behind the defense, especially if it's a first year offense against a third year defensive guru. The first year offense isn't an excuse for game day, but for now these scrimmage stats are useless.

Alabama has 3 returning defensive starters, and there secondary is suppose to be struggling very badly right now.

Every year we hope that Bama won't be good because of all of the talent lost to the NFL draft and every year we're wrong

Not falling for it this time. We don't play them in week 1. By November their defense will be playing at a very high level.

“Our focus will be on catching the football the next two weeks.” - Ed Orgeron on the wide receivers.

I wonder what the focus has been on up to this point.

Joe Burrow - 10-24, 120 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT Well that's not encouraging.

who knows how accurate these are but if 8 passes were dropped that would make a HUGE difference.

I'm looking for 10 & 2 this season, and I want to make the playoff next season (11 & 1 plus SEC Title plus playoff BERTH).

You can count on one hand the numbers of teams that would go 10-2 with this schedule.

Not saying we shouldn’t expect to win 10 as a program but less than 10 doesn’t make this a bad season. I’m looking for Improved qb play, more forced turnovers, beat one of UGA/Bama, don’t lose to a team worse than you.

I mean honestly I could see the WR group being a bit shaken by the sudden arrest of their teammate.
