They have a better training staff for one thing. Every year LSU is a MASH unit. Time to wipe out that department and start anew with better methods that keep players on the field.

Vandy ALWAYS has pitching. Ark is good every year. State is doing well. Why LSU struggling ?
Vandy has a great coach and a built in scholarship advantage. Pitchers are generally smarter, so they can recruit smart pitchers and give them academic scholarships.
Ark is building a great program and they have a great coach. They are on the upswing. But they haven't won the conference since 2004, they've never won a CWS (they were runner ups in 2018, a year after LSU) They are playing better than LSU as of late but I'm not ready to say they have "passed" LSU as an overall program.
Moo St has zero CWS champs and their only runner-up was back in 2013 under a different coach. They are also playing well but I think they are a rung under Arkansas - playing well as of late, but still very limited in their overall success (although they have a longer record of great, but not terrific, success than Arkansas).

Vandy is a legitimate yearly contender for the NC.
Vandy has finished 3rd or worst in the SEC east 4 of the 6 seasons from 2014-2019
This narrative that Vandy is some sort of behemoth is over-blown.

Once again you are an idiot. Show proof where LSU has more injuries than other teams. Hell auburn has lost 4 out of their top 6 arms this season.

So much crap in this thread. Has Arkansas or MSU EVER won a CWS? As for recruiting goes, do you people realize that only a certain amount of coaches can go on the road to recruit? I think it’s 2. It’s common practice in college baseball for the head coach NOT to go on the road recruiting.

Why is this allowed to happen? I equate this to someone just flat out not showing up to work, or showing up and not doing a damn thing all day. A college coach not going out and recruiting is inexcusable.
It shouldn’t be. It’s a joke. A few years ago I remember seeing him at a high school fall. Wasn’t there recruiting, was there watching his son play. If his son wasn’t up to bat his nose when in a copy of the advocate. 4 guys ended up playing SEC baseball. 3/4 that played in SEC had to go to Eunice first. If he had put the paper down and actually watched the game it would have been very obvious that none of them shoulda went to Eunice and woulda benefited from 4 years at LSU with proper development. Also of those 4 guys that played in the SEC 1 of them is currently on an MLB 40 Man roster. He did not get an offer from LSU.

I disagree.
But, if you believe that, then nobody has "passed" LSU's elite level...LSU has just fallen below them.

I mean if you look at a small window of just this year, they've been better, but it hasn't been that long since State and Arkansas were downright bad. Arkansas was 7-23 in the SEC and had a losing overall record in 2016. State was 8-22 and had a losing record the year prior. Hell when State went to Omaha in 2018, they finished the regular season 31-24 and 15-15 in the SEC. They were a cinderella team that season. Neither Arkansas nor State have been more consistent as a program than we have been. Vanderbilt is obviously a different story, but as others have noted, they have not exactly been the juggernaut year after year they're made out to be and have actually gone to Omaha less frequently than we have

More, I think it was 2017 they had 7 pitchers out with season ending arm injuries.

Here are some facts not opinion:
1. Arkansas roster with playing time-4 Fr, 5 So, 10 Jr, 6 Sr.
LSU roster with playing time-8 Fr, 8 So, 6 Jr, 4 Sr
2. Vanderbilt's scholarship is need based not academic, which they also have.
3. Under Dunn, LSU has had four pitchers go down with arm problems since 2012, Doug Norman, Eric Walker, Jaden Hill and Matthew Beck. Labas, Latz and Storz came to LSU with preexisting injuries.
All I would ask is that before you start or answer a thread, check things out before making unsubstantiated remarks.

Top-tier, championship baseball has WAY less to do with "talent" and "development" and way MORE to do with intangibles.
You think Skip's teams were generally that much more talented or 'developed' than the others?

BTW, Vanderbilt and Florida have lost more pitchers to injury in the last 4 years than Dunn in 12.

And, yet, only one of those teams has more skins on the wall than LSU during Paul’s tenure.

Can someone explain the Vandy scholarship advantage? If all things were equal and I could get a free education from Vandy while playing baseball in an elite program then that’s where I’d go.
Does LSU still have any advantage with TOPS or is the in-state talent not that good?

A lot of the credit regarding State's team goes directly to the assistant coaches. Foxhall and Gautreau have been stellar. Lemonis generally keeps his hands out of their work, which from what I understand, is what Paul has a hard time doing.

Not according to Boudinman! He thinks LSU is the only team that has injuries.

Eh, not really. Paul's problem is he doesn't have assistants that can do what Foxhall and Gautreau are doing. Paul not being involved enough is what he has issues with
