It’s probably getting close for him to retire tbh

As a LSU fan who roots for the Phillies, I hope the very best for Nola but he is getting to the twilight of his career. He probably retires in the next couple years.

He signed like 170 million dollar deal and has been underperforming. Think most fanbases would be upset.

Eagles fans cheered when Wendell Davis went down with a double knee injury in old Vets stadium

He’s probably just been sucking. Philly fans super passionate as any. Probably dick heads when you’re doing bad but so are we

Philly fans are the worst in sports, but Nola also hasn't been very good for a couple of years now. He'll have glimpses of what he used to be, but nothing consistent.
I think he needs to get out of that environment, but he signed a massive extension a couple of years ago, and I don't think he's very tradable right now, given how things are going.

Preach. We don’t boo our players normally cause we already emptied the 2nd half.
Where are your seats? I’ll come find you this season in the second half.

they are probably booing the contract as much as the person if not more. Phillies have a lot of aging veterans signed to long contracts and most of them are not and will not age well. May be their last year to give it a run.

Are Philly fans this fricking awful
Philly fans are miserable and the worst on earth, no matter the sport. There was a reason the old Veterans Stadium had a jail and Eagle court with a presiding Judge. The new stadium does not have this, but were functioning holding cells for processing with security for the first couple of years, but I believe that is no longer. Insufferable fans!!

Have y’all seen the Knicks fans recently? They trounce Philly in bad fandom, but I’m biased.

He coughed up a 5 run lead with 7 earned runs in 5 innings. His year has been abysmal. He's given the franchise a lot, but the last couple of years he's purely been shite and is getting paid stupid money. It's time to move him.
Citizen Bank Park and the fans there are top 5 in baseball. Unbelieveably supportive and passionate fans and pack the Bank every game even during weekday mid afternoon games.
Hate all you want on Philly but I don't see a franchise in shite-hole New Orleans where you can't get 10000 asses in the seats for an NBA game. 90% of folks who hate on Philly fans are just suppoting word of mouth. Philly sports are some of the greatest atmospheres in all of sports. I see much more trash at a Saints game and its not even particularly close.

He's been bad for two seasons now. Was spotted a 5-0 lead and blew it.

Philly also threw harmful things at Santa one Sunday afternoon at old Franklin Field at halftime of an Eagles game. Philly fans are just not nice at all.

Was he the one whose wife was fricking somebody behind his back and had 4 kids?
Posted on 6/30/26 at 4:29 pm to Juan Betanzos
I was actually at that game. The Bears still pulled the upset that day.
I felt horrible for Davis. That pretty much ended his career.

I'm from Louisiana, and a lifetime LSU fan.
But I've also been Eagles/Phillies fan my whole life, and loved the 76ers until the NBA became unwatchable 20 years ago, also was a Flyers fan, but don't have the time for hockey anymore.
All that said, Nola now SUCKS. He's being paid $25 million a year, THROUGH 2030.
It's pro sports. When you don't perform, you catch the heat. ESPECIALLY in a market like Philly.
No, I WOULD NOT do this either, but if he had any sense of pride, he'd retire and stop taking the salary, or negotiate a lower amount due to him.

Yeah, fans aside, when you sign a monster deal and don't perform up to that contract, no one is exactly going to shower you with rose petals.
