You can tell they're hurting for season tickets. On top of that I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a waitlist for at least the last 2 seasons.

Ticket sales will continue to decline under O.

Good. Wasn't ethical in the first place.

This has very little to do with O, and a lot to do with the the fact that season tickets are hard to justify for (usually) one big game a year.

Correct. Joe Allevas entire model has been to squeeze us for everything he can. Which when we were winning worked somewhat reasonably. But renovations to the existing part of Tiger Stadium have been absolutely too far and few between. We'll see how the renovations they're doing this summer turn out but I won't hold my breath. We finally got new tvs after decades of them being outdated. The Aramark deal is a microcosm of Joe Alleva's stance on the fans. He sold out for more money for LSU but essentially left us out in the cold with higher prices, worse food, and worse service.

Kind of. It makes it worse when we suck. When there's something to play for, games against teams like A&M and Arky are still ones you want to attend. When we are fighting for 4th place, those are the easiest tickets to get, and the toughest to get rid of.

Unless of course we win 9-10-11 games next season and have great recruiting class.

Then the sheep fair weather fans will come flocking back.
What a fanbase at LSU!

Could be that it’s far far far cheaper to just buy tickets later for the games you actually want to attend.

Honestly the stadium should have never been expanded. It was because there was a demand for tickets for a winning product, but new technology and the fact the AD tries to squeeze every penny out of the fans and continue to give them a shite experience in stadium, people are staying home.

Why should I or anyone shell out 3k for 6 homes games, with one being worth a shite?

Do you have any idea how childish this sounds?

Poor babies you had to watch old tvs while standing in line for snacks. How horrible! How cruel! I bet it is against the Geneva Convention protocols! I don't know how you survived.

Geeze what a bunch of puzzies.

The one in the North of the East Upper was not just outdated...it was broken, the metal box which housed it was empty AND finally facing the bridge.

I mean...say what you want about the TV's, but that looked like fricking Section 8 housing and was like that for 5 straight seasons.

I have pictures of my sons standing in front of them each season and it was like that for so long you can watch them grow like time lapse...

Outside of the Bama game, you can get greatly reduced tickets outside the stadium before the game. Just doesn’t make financial sense to buy season tickets unless you just want to say you’re a season ticket holder

I don't think renovations or lack thereof really have much to do with it. People packed Tiger Stadium well before any renovations. It's really just an issue of supply/demand, finance and inconvenience.

1. Even as recently as 20 years ago not every game was on TV. Going further back it use to be that you had to go to the game to see it. Otherwise, the radio was your only option. Now that is no longer the case. Every fan can sit in the comfort and convenience of their home and watch every game. There's no "need" to go to the game.

2. Couple that with the fact costs and inconveniences are rising, and many casual fans just choose to stay home. Once the TAF fee is added in I pay ~$1,400 for one season ticket. That's just to sit in the stadium. That doesn't include parking or concessions.

3. Despite being perpetually "broke", LSU seems to constantly be expanding their infrastructure and in the process reducing places to park. So you either have to purchase an expensive parking pass OR fight for one of the few remaining "free" lots. Even those lots are becoming less and less as LSU, in their infinite wisdom, started trying to gouge people to park in the hayfield lots near the levee. I think they were charging $90 to park there for the Auburn game!

4. Due to the stadium expansion it's no longer an "exclusive privilege" to go a game. With 100k seats available it's not hard to find tickets. I can remember a time where it was a big deal to go to a LSU game. Now, you can get tickets for almost next to nothing if you wait until right before kickoff to buy. The "supply" has grown while the "demand" has decreased. Unfortunately, the costs have increase along with the supply, so LSU is forced to try to squeeze more and more out of the dwindling demand.

I think for many people the costs/inconvenience have exceeded the benefit. My family has 9 season tickets. 20 years ago we had to turn people away who wanted to buy them. This year we have almost had to beg to find people who might want to buy some.

wait - you mean fans support a winning product? Who knew?

You do realize that one of the only ways a fan, like any consumer, can express displeasure with the football team (or any product) is with their wallet.

It doesn't make someone a "fair weather fan" to stop donating and buying tickets.

To keep doing so, even when the program is headed down the wrong path, doesn't make you a great fan -- it makes you a chump.

people are tired of the nickel and diming and Alleva. I know of 8 tickets not being renewed in south club.
