Need to invite Nick to a game to be honored at halftime at some point.

Spot on. Lane is addressing depth with these late additions too

November 7th would be great if gameday is there.

The fans who give af about the game are being priced out. I can’t tell you how many people I see come take pictures, stay a quarter or two and leave. These tickets are not cheap whatsoever. The Arkansas game in 2023 we won by a last second field goal as time was expiring and the stadium was half full, just one anecdotal example.

Imagine looking Nick Saban in the eyes and saying “I need to beat the traffic and get home early on a Saturday night”
I think he’d snatch your fan card through your soul

This. Don’t blame the fans that want to go but can’t afford to.

This right here. It’s more of a “look at me and where I’m at on social media” thing than actually being there to watch the game for a lot of these so called fans now.

some yes
but
it is way more than that man. i had season tix for just over 2 decades. called it quits in 2021.
now i had a parking pass in alex box parking lot which was great. and the west upper was redone in 2005 so we had great modern amenities. never ran out of water at concessions. easy getting in and out your seats.
however:
many have no parking pass. PITA finding parking now.
some areas of stadium had shite concessions and ran out of water
some areas had shite restrooms
the traffic after games is horrendous
the new rules on tailgating have turned many away
the game experience is NOT the same like it was from late 90s to 2012.
all games are on TV now.
all fans can stay home and get:
lazy boy seat on 50 yard line
HDTV screen
private clean bathroom
air conditioning/climate controlled room
all food and drink of your choice. high quality. no waiting in line and missing game
no worry about finding a parking spot
no worries about traffic and the drive post game.
all these factors have driven many away.
much easier to stay home with way better conditions.
i will still fly to atlanta for SECCG if we make it but that is my road trip of the year always. I have been to every SECCG we have played in except 2022.

it was like that back in the 2000's. we had 2 couples that sat a couple rows behind us in WU section 617. by halftime they always were like..." ummm how about we bail outta here and pickup some wine and food on way home".
i was always like WTF? i never left early win, lose or draw. i get my $$ worth. But it was their money. i did not bring my kids to any games until they were like 5 years old. luckily i never had any kid issues where we had to leave early. that is understandable if a child was sick or got sick and needed to leave or even an adult for that matter. but most early departees are just the wine and cheese crowd and leaving early regardless.

2028 will be the 25th anniversary of the 2003 Natty. Would be good to invite the whole team and staff back for one of the games.

To your point and also mine, it costs $100 freaking dollars to park on the cow fields on river road. That is just insane to me. Is there even free parking anymore since they added more paid parking this offseason? It costs $100 just to get to the game before you even step inside the stadium. The experience really is a shell of its former self, getting incredibly corporate

outrageous. before we added a parking pass we would park on the old front 9 golf course or by walkons. both were free. now? who knows.
i mean you can always buy a parking pass online from a seller. we did that for a couple seasons before we were awarded the pass through my season tix as we had been on a waiting list.
but that pass put us close to the stadium and cost me 800 bucks and that was back in 2000s. can only imagine what that would cost you now on the secondary market.
