If you want to temper your confidence, just go look at the series record.

We haven't played a team as good as Alabama yet. The two "good" teams we played, Ole Miss, and Kentucky, both beat us.

This entire post is spoken like a true ranter. Every team we beat sucks, because we beat them. The only good teams we played, we lost. Just move that bar wherever it's needed to make your statement true.

quote:

Alabama murdered Kentucky.

Kentucky was winning that game at half time. They murdered them in the second half.

quote:

They lost a close one against Georgia, who is currently the best team in the SEC. An uncalled PI, which was clear to everyone watching, cost them that game.

Why do you only want to point out the areas of Bama's schedule that highlights what you want to think? Wouldn't it better to look at their season as a whole instead?

- They struggled with a bad FSU team, who just fired its coach.
- Lost to Tennessee, which you decided to weirdly semi excuse for some reason???
- Struggled with an aTm team that you just labeled not good, because LSU beat them.

Why were all those points left out? Because they don't fit your narrative.

quote:

Bama is good this year, and arguably the toughest opponent on our entire schedule.

Until LSU wins, and they will just be added to the list of not good teams we have beaten, right? Next week Texas will be the first real chance we have of beating a good team.

Thats a good thing... I think a lot of us are scarred from the past 6 or 7 years

Do you rather have that BK Era feeling of wondering if we are gonna be prepared?

What about what Auburn and Florida fans are having right now with a new coach?

Take ur P&G glasses off. The only two teams we’ve played that are still playing games that matter in November, beat us.
Our “signature” wins are all against teams that have folded and are no longer competitive. (Partially because we whipped their asses, but I digress)

No reason to feel “confident” we’ll beat bama, they own us. We look better than we have all year but it doesn’t matter once that ball is kicked off, just the teams on the field that day.

Bama’s “struggles” resulted in two losses like us. We don’t have a win as good as Kentucky on the road, and they won that handlily regardless of what you say about it being a “second half beat down”

Yeah it has me thrown off too. I am stupidly confident about winning this game.

LSU defensively is almost identical statistically to Tennessee at all 3 levels. Most computer models have LSUs defense as good or better than Tennessee, which is top 3-5 in the country. We have an elite top 2 defensive line, very good linebackers, and good-elite secondary players.

LSU offensively is light-years ahead of Tennessee, and is getting better each week.

Tennessee easily handled Bama, and Tennessee has no offense.

LSUs offense is slightly better as a whole. LSUs defense is a good bit better than Bamas, though both are very good.

Bama is not good at running the football this year and they are extremely weak at the tackle position sitting at 130+ in FBS for giving up sacks. LSU has one of the best Edge tandem/trio in the country and is killing QBs on edge rushes, without losing contain. LSU also has one of the best run defenses in the country, and every elite run defense bama has played (Tennessee and Georgia) has forced Bama to one dimensional passing, which we have elite DBs and the best secondary bama has played all year.

They have like half of their starters injured as well, they might get some back but most won play.

Also it's in Death Valley.

LSU is a brutal match up for Bama.

I will
Let you in on a little secret.

Series record will have zero impact on who wins this games. People do t want to hear this. There is no jinx or they own us involved in that record. Bama had the better team most of the time. That is why the record is what it is. I might be wrong, but imo has the better team and coaching staff. LSU wins by 14-17 points

Actually, Bama is decent running the ball at 151 yards a game. Better than they were last year at 104 a game. But that is more because of Russell running the ball too, and they do have pretty good RBs.

That being said, I am confident in our DL's ability to manhandle their OL. I think they might handle Weston Davis on our right side of our OL, and probably get some push against the guards, but Moore and Seaton are rock solid. Hopefully Satterwhite/Bordelon/Bah are up to the task.

I don't think their WRs are as good as people think, except for RCW. Lock in Pickett on him all day and their passing game is all but neutralized unless they involve the TE a lot.

I posted facts. Purple and gold glasses, or not, a fact remains a fact.

No reason to feel “confident” we’ll beat bama, they own us

So you say this.....but then follow it with this??

quote:

it doesn’t matter once that ball is kicked off, just the teams on the field that day.

So in one breath you said Bama owns us, so we shouldn't feel confident. Then you immediately turn around and say that none of it matters, just the teams on the field that day? Holy contradiction.

You are out here saying the media and rant will poo poo a win vs bama.
I’m here to tell u if we beat them, the narrative will change.

We’ve just seen 15 years of complete dominance when these two teams compete. So no reason for fans to think anything otherwise, if you’re doing so (which you are) you are wearing fan glasses.

See my previous post, nothing this season has shown lsu is ready or capable of winning a big game, we’ve lost the two we’ve played. Hopefully that changes but I’m not “confident” we’re just gonna go out there and kick arse, our GOAT team almost blew the game, our RB had to carry half their team 10 yards to pull that out.

The contradiction is that yes, the players on the field this year will decide the game. Using history it would tell you the game is already decided, so forgive the scorned fans here.
We figure out ways to blunder this game away. Recent history will tell you it doesn’t even matter the opponent.
