Truth. I've always felt that people who call in local radio shows regularly and/or post on internet constantly may represent the extremist points of view for each "belief." It's really weird to me how our fanbase is so divided over Les Miles. Reminds me of democrats and republicans. Each side has a strictly held belief and will not budge from this no matter what.

What are our 10-12 wins traced back too?

once we step on the field, we are more talented than any team not named alabama.

talent goes along way.

Plus we have a very capable defensive coach.

So just recruit talented players and BOOM! automatic wins. Basically the Big Bang theory of college football. Ok.....that's one theory.

The exact opposite is true for the people bitching about 10 and 11 win seasons. It's either all they know or all they can remember and who think that if the season doesn't end with crystal football in the trophy case - the season is a disappointment.

I also love how everybody thinks we have mostly 4-5 stars on our roster, and nobody else outside of Alabama does.

So does Les get credit for the wins or just the blame for the losses? You threw the "talent" card.

And do you realize how foolish you sound being okay with winning 10 games and playing for nothing at the end of the year but a crappy bowl?

Not nearly as foolish as you sound with this post. Fans like you deserve to relive the Archer/Hallman years. "Settling" for 9-10 wins with Frank Solich wasn't good enough for Nebraksa fans. How's it worked out for them since then? Tennessee was sick of "settling" with Fulmer. They've won 4 SEC games the last 3 years. And morons like you aren't even new. Darrell K Royal won 3 MNC's for Texas, but they were "settling" for a 8 wins his last couple of years, so he got shoved out. Fred Akers didn't win any, after 10 years and no MNC's he had to go, then it was 12 years with out so much as a top 10 finish. This season may not have gotten any hardware, but 10, maybe 11 wins and a top 5-7 finish in the best league CFB is a damn good season. If you don't appreciated it, you are doomed to be miserable.

On a talent level defensively? Yes. Our offense is coming around now as well. That doesn't change the fact that the defense also took the first two-thirds of the season playing for every game while the offense and Mett were getting comfortable. We threw for more yards this season than we have in 6 years. One can only deduce that they've changed their offensive gameplan, and for a team that has literally depended on the run game for the past 4 years, that'll take time. So yes, we maintained success while many people with similar talent that we play can't do the same. Being upset with the Florida loss is fine. I can get that, but Mett was obviously not ready yet. I'd rather take this season at 10-2 and get the offense in sync and more confidence in Mett throwing the ball from the team and staff, though, than see another 13-1 running the ball and hoping our D'll save us.

Honestly, I'm more excited as this year is coming to a close than I was last year because I knew we didn't have much at QB going into the BCS game against a pissed off Bama team. I see a spark in the offense that I haven't seen in a long time, and that's huge.

We don't play most teams in the nation. The teams that did beat us, have similar #'s. Mike Detillier and Hanagriff were discussing the draft prospects before the Bama game. Mike D said there were 15 guys in that game likely to be drafted next April. 9 for Bama and 6 for LSU. CH pointed out it should be 9 and 9 if Faulk, Matheiu and Hurst were still on the roster.

That other team we lost to this year that happens to have 2 recent National Championships and a #4 ranking isn't nearly as talented? NFL scouts may disagree with you.

Holy shite, it's a rational person. Thank you. An overly cocky fanbase always ruins itself when it does shite like this. 119 FBS coaches will not win a championship this year. Yet, in the past 6 years, the team who has won the BCS National Championship has come from the SEC. Five of them were from the SEC West. The other was the SEC East team that we play every single year.

For the past six years, Les Miles has either won or coached against the team who would win the BCS National Championship. Not only that, it could happen again THIS year. Maintaining such a high level of success is absolutely amazing when you put that into perspective, and I just can't sit around and bitch about what is the Golden Age of LSU Football.

I wish you and everyone like you in the fanbase would just take that final step and end it. Every elite teams has high expectations. Every elite team wants to win every fricking game. Every elite team could be undefeated if they played up to their potential every game. It's irrational to say that a coach that has lead us to more success than we've EVER maintained is the weakness and that people are glad he's sticking around because he's a bad coach. That's bull shite.

You mean to tell me that every other team who hasn't won the division the past few years wants him to stay? You're telling me the teams that he won those 10 games against yearly are glad he isn't leaving? Yeah, all those other SEC teams love losing to Les Miles every year, and I totally agree that they want him to stick around so they can continue to add that loss to the record every year. If you think every team wouldn't be elated at us being stupid enough to get rid of Les Miles, you're a fricking idiot and deserve every bit of misery you get from the program declining as a result.

Think that won't happen? Look at Arkansas. They were supposed to be a contender for the title this year. They thought it was their year. Petrino was supposed to be the great coach to lead them to the top, but what happened? He was caught pounding strange. Everyone always talks about intangibles for players. Les Miles has EVERY intangible I'd like to see in a coach. He doesn't throw his players under the bus, he stands up to them, he doesn't look like a moron yelling on the sideline, and he's a goofy, good natured family man. We should just be glad that our "moron" of a coach leads us to 10 win seasons every year and keeps us in contention when all those other coaches who are so much better jump from elite program to elite program failing to do the same.

Agreed!

And if we don't make it to a BCS bowl (which we have no control over) then what are we celebrating? Cotton, Cap One, or Chikfila Bowl? Oh yeah! What a season!!!
