Hey everyone,

This coming Saturday will be my first home game since 2011. I know the traffic and parking at and around Tiger Stadium on gameday has changed since then. What's you all's advice on where I should park and what time I should get there? I used to get on campus in the morning for a night game because I used to tailgate all day. But if I don't tailgate, what do you all suggest should be my strategy for arriving and parking? Also, I'm bringing two friends with me who've NEVER been to an LSU game.

You can probably pick up a parking pass in lot 406 or 407 for $50-$60 on secondary markets.

Campus was pretty mild on Saturday. I'd expect similar this weekend. You can prob find a parking pass like poster above said or just go park at one of those churches on dalrymple for like $20.

There was zero traffic coming from the East. It was the lightest I've seen it this season and was the latest I've gotten to campus.

Go to lsutix.net and click on purchase tickets. scroll to the paid lots that are available. 406 ($60) and 407($50) are both great for in-and-out.

Park in the hayfield. There will be plenty of parking there. No need to overthink this.

Thanks for all the help everybody!

I really don't want to pay $60 to park and I don't mind walking a distance. On this map it looks like you can park for free in the lots south of the stadium on Gourrier (Hayfield, golf course, Gourrier South, Levee South, etc). How much luck will I have finding parking there and how early should I get there? We're staying in New Orleans so those lots look like they might be the best bet for us.

Given that, I recommend Acadian/Stanford, then:
- right on W. Lakeshore Dr.
- left on E. Parker Blvd.

then right into one of the Ag lots BEFORE you get to Highland Road.

I parked at the golf course this past weekend, and it was free. Short walk to the stadium.

Thanks guys! I assumed those lots by Parker Coliseum would be full in the morning. That sounds like my best bet. I'm not that worried about traffic after the game, as I generally wait for about 30-60 min after game time to leave.

The earlier you get there, the better/easier. If you're extra early and want to risk the traffic on Nicholson, drive towards the LSU Tennis Center and they'll either let you park in the Golf Course lot (about a 5 miniute walk to the stadium) or the lot by the Gymnasium practice arena (about a ten minute walk). Worst case they'll have you park by the levee which is about a mile out.

So do you think it'll be better to drive up Nicholson as opposed to coming down Highland or exiting at Acadian off I-10?

You can bet there will be people “saving” spots for their friends. Politely ask them to move their chairs and cooler before you run over them.
