He is gone. The fact that he has improved exponentially in one year should tell you why

Yep, NBA is all about potential... They trust being able to develop kids once they're drafted

There’s a thread on just how good he is. shite that hasn’t been done since 1992 by a freshman in the SEC. yeah better than Simmons. He is the ONLY Freshman in the SEC since 1992 to average 15 points a game, shoot over 50% from the field, 40% from three and over 80% from the free throw line”. Will Wade said this earlier. Down vote away, but Simmons is was not a good shooter at all.

The NBA wants him now. The NBA evaluates based on potential not just achievement. He will go this year. A large number of kids don't wanna take classes and tests and study when they can make millions NOW.

If we play Duke I doubt he's guarding Zion... Gotta put KBW or Emmitt on him

The development is all because of Will Wade. Naz would have been content to stay on the perimeter all year and shoot three's. Coach Wade made him a part of an offense that taught him the pick and roll game, using off ball screens to get free and even posting up some. And oh yeah, made him a much better defender and rebounder.

Yes, he still needs a lot of improvement on most of his game and could be a super star next year in college if that happens. But to think the NBA won't take him and he will turn down the cash is just unrealistic.

Not really. This may be gradually changing, and he may yet be a lottery pick this year, but right now he is not projected in the top 20, and in most mock drafts he is projected in the 2nd round.

Of course it would help, but we won't find out how much because he will be in the NBA next season.

He’s not a top 30 pick at this point. That’s likely meaningless to him but he should consider it

He's getting better, but his stock is rising according to who? Why do we keep saying this as LSU fans without any evidence to support it?

Here is a link to a composite of major NBA mock drafts, updated yesterday. Reid is number 37, well into the 2nd round.

Hate to say it, but one & done. Think he could really, really improve his spot if he played Tiger ball just one more year.

zhaire smith outta texas tech last year was the perfect example of this. was no where near ready for the NBA but went first round based off of pure potential/athleticism
