Schertz is going to get better offers than LSU.
Would love to have him but the hottest name this off-season isn’t going to take the LSU job.

Continuing the McNeese trend at LSU, Armstrong would be the likely candidate. McNeese just won its conference championship by 17, over Stephen F. Austin, the regular season champ. Led by over 20 until garbage time.
With Landry as Governor, former McNeese Prez Rousse now serving as LSU President, and Lake Charles area resident Lee Mallett as Chairman of the Board, it's hard to imagine that they would overlook him.

Would be awful to fire Wade, spend 4 years in the dumpster trying to disassociate from him, then hire his top assistant while at LSU.

Matt McMan. If no Wade, bring back McMania.

As far as I know there is only one name and if that doesn’t happen we may be stuck with McFly another year. He will receive zero support if he is not fired. Don’t expect any announcement any time soon

The LSU athletic department is a joke if this is the case.

Bill Wade
First pick in the 1952 NFL draft, led the !963 Bears to the championship over former Tiger Y. A. Tittle and the Giants. Yelverton was left bloody and kneeling by the Monsters of the Midway. He was also from Nashville so may be related to the one so adored on this board who also hailed from the Music City.

Is Chris Beard officially off the table? I'm beginning to move in his direction

He makes $6 MM a year and his buyout is currently $4.5 MM.
If Will Wade’s $3 MM a year and $3 MM buyout are too much, not sure how Beard is on the table.

Agreed. Kansas State has already approached him for their job and he immediately shot it down.

Not to pile on sharlo, but here is a list of potential coaches from a month ago:
list of coaches for K-State to consider after firing Tang
Takayo Siddle - UCW
Matt Baeuer - Stephen F Austin
Bryan Hodgson - South Florida
Seem like low cost options that could pan out.
