Man, I'm with you on investing a lot of emotion and support on the Tigers but when you start breaking stuff and throwing things, that's a bit too much.
Sounds like you have an anger problem. Not trying to be a jerk, just what it sounds like from what you described.
I holler and swear but I've never thrown glasses and broken bbq pits and all that sort of stuff.
If it gets too stressful, walk outside, walk away from the game for a few minutes and cool down.

I tried to read through half of this thread to see if you had any responses. I get angry when LSU plays like crap when they shouldn't but damn you need counseling. You are fricking 46 for crying out loud and I am nearly 2 years removed from being at every game for 4 years in the student section and I wouldn't dream of breaking things nor any of the things you mentioned.

I also noticed someone mentioned anger management to you. In my limited experience of my field I would feel inclined to agree this may be absolutely necessary given your current situation. No flame or whatever.

Most people who publicly display their anger on here aren't getting laid.

i live in california. im a sports nut and lsu football is my biggest "turn on". I watch the game emotionally, i know i do. I invite people over for the food before the game as sort of a tailgate, but will only watch with the "few who get it". I know im out of my mind for three hours on saturday although op seems a little out of control. My old roommate tells everybody that the ultimate joke would be to install "the clapper" in my place during an lsu game. lol, i think thats pretty funny and tell him he better not do it.

Self-control is vital to our success.
People who have good self-control tend to be both more popular and more successful in many areas of life. Those with low self-control, though, are at risk of overeating, addictions and underachievement.

Hmmm. Which teams fans best fit this description?

Gee I do not understand why throwing and breaking things for a 46 year old would not be acceptable to your wife.

bro you need to ease off the anger. serious. you are 46. there is no reason to throw stuff over a football game. don't act an arse in front of your wife, it only reinforces her thinking she made the wrong decision. life will go on. there will always be more games and more seasons.

I am 46. My wife is an LSU grad, and understands how important LSU football is to me specifically, and to La's culture in general.
I think you should get season tickets to ULM games.

I was in the same boat. Same age as you, born and raised in BTR, wife went to LSU. It reached a point where no one could be around to watch the games with me, other than close friends who were just as obnoxious. My suggestion is do not watch important games with your wife and other couples. Try and meet with your buddies for those critical games where you're really fired up. I take my wife and family to rent-a-win games and never to the big games. This "distancing" has really helped.
