At the end of the day it is just a game, if you love your wife, work on your issues. You can be just as passionate for lsu without the throwing and cursing

You need to run for the shelter of your mother's little helper*, or at least get a script for Citalopram. You need help.

* You young whippersnappers most likely have NO IDEA what I'm talking about here, so I'll give you a clue:

TigerTreyjpg, it's only a game and in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean shite. I too was like you before my father died, his death changed my perspective.

I think that you are completely normal. You can tone it down a bit, if you try.

During LSU football games, be mindful of your local, state and federal criminal codes, and, try to avoid violating any criminal laws. You should be fine.

Your wife needs to understand that you are like a Force of Nature that cannot be contained by mortal forces. You are like a herd of wild horses that cannot be corralled. You are an ALPHA male, not a Beta.

If you current wife wants to be with a real man, then, she will accept you as you are.

have told her that I am passionate about very little in life. Outside of her, my beautiful 19 year old daughter that has a 3.7 after her first year of college (no pics dickheads), a big wad of cupping mallards, it's pretty much just LSU sports that really fires me up.

I need advice, and will hang up and listen.

My advice is don't watch LSU this season, it could get get ugly and we still have Les. Next year could be better.

Go into every game thinking we are going to lose, that way when we do, you are not mad, and when we win, you are excited.

Thats money!

Also the guy who said either drink more...or drink less was also spot on.

In public or with others watching the game be a grown up.
If its just you and the wife I doubt she minds the profane so just chill on the throwning stuff.

bro you need to ease off the anger. serious. you are 46. there is no reason to throw stuff over a football game. don't act an arse in front of your wife, it only reinforces her thinking she made the wrong decision. life will go on. there will always be more games and more seasons.
Nice avi.."It's still real to me, damnit!!!" One of my all-time faves.

WRT the OP, I can identify on some level as I've broken a few things in my day. When LSU lost to UK in '07, I threw all of my empty beer bottles at about 100mph at a nearby construction dumpster. My cousin (who I watched the game with) actually tried to knock himself out with his own fist...funny sh!t. Problem is, I feel like a complete azzhole later on. No one witnessed it, but I realized that it was a stupid thing to do as it didn't take away the sting of the loss. Plus, my shoulder kinda hurt since I didn't warm-up.

One way that helps me keep calm is to drink scotch rather than beer during the games. Beer is more likely to make me get riled up and act like an idiot, whereas scotch turns me into James mothafriggin' Bond (or so I believe...shut up).

Another thing that helps is to watch the game with someone that you like but aren't completely comfortable with; someone that you'd be embarrassed to act like that in front of. Social pressures can sometimes be a good thing if it means not acting like a jerk-off.

And like you, my wife blames me for her eroded interest in sports, although I haven't displayed nearly the level of idiocy around her as you have. She basically hates it anytime I make a peep towards the TV. I can't even get out a well-warranted "Are you effing kidding me?" on a bad call without her getting mad. I've toned it down a lot since we've been together, but now we're at the point where she's got to be a little more understanding. Anyway, you'll find that, as you start to calm down a bit, you'll start to enjoy the game more. And if we lose, you'll take it better and enjoy your life more. Losing sucks, but hating yourself for 24hrs afterwards is much worse.

Did you know that the #1 symptom of heart disease is sudden death? It would be a shame to lose a passionate tiger fan to cardiac arrest.

it all sounds like your wife's fault. suggest that she go to an alanon meeting as a support for you. she should stop nagging you shortly. she seems to be codependent on your behavior. she needs to relax and let go.

Think of it this way. A loss means ten times more to a LSU player than to us as a fan. So I have learned not to get so emotional (mad) at a loss. I get upset at a bad loss, but I rarely let it affect my life. It's called maturing. Good luck.

I think you are very wrong here. Fans are frustrated athlete wanna bes living vicariously through their team, players realize that their best effort is sometimes not good enough, but that losing is part of sports.
