How in the world do u get "psycho" from "I'll hang on and listen"?

If you saw my reply earlier, I am genuinely surprised that my behavior is uncommon, and will make an attempt to change things.

It's a freaking game man. I get pissed but shite, I'm a drunk student. You're almost 50 and you act like a freaking kid.

Also, post videos of you acting this way. At least record them so you can watch yourself.

Well I'm sure the following won't go over well

When LSU won the MNC in 07 I remember feeling like ......thats it?

Then I was excited for the undefeated season only to be disgusted with bamas placement in the rematch.

I love LSU but i think the watered down BCS era (yes that includes 07) has lessened my taste for college FB overall.

Unless there is an 8 team playoff determined on the field and not by polls or committees......then there will be NO True Champion.
and as long as the NCAA and its members keep the money coming in from the fans ....its not going to change

I haven't read every page but I've read enough

Stop throwing shite. Don't do it

I still will yell during a game. A damn here or a crap there or a fricking A over there. I'm gonna be excited during a game.

But don't throw shite. And when the game ends win or lose, it's done. You've got 6 days to live so find something else to get into

Cooking movies bike riding what the frick ever try new things and expand you're horizons past LSU football fan. You and your family will be the beneficiaries

Had the same kind of passion in my younger days... don't worry, the older you get the more you're just glad to be healthy and alive to go to the games.

if you have enjoyed the answers here on the rant, i would suggest you go a little further.

it sounds like you are considering some professional help. it couldn't wouldn't hurt. we all have childhood issues that need to be understood. we judge ourselves more harshly than even god would judge us. you need to practice forgiveness of self.

The worst part about the OP is that I know many Bama fans who act like this

I almost understand this, but I don't yell or throw things. I stay quiet and try to be calm, like I did when I was Coaching. I did that because Zi was trying to concentrate on the next play or series. Guess it's just habit.
I have noticed that losses are much more devastating than wins are exhilarating. Winning is more relief now. Thinking about taking a step back this year and avoiding things that piss me off like opposing fans, and ESPN.

Your actions and whether there are justified or not is not the issue. Like anything in life once your actions start imparting negative consequences on the ones you love (e.g., wife, children, friends) you have to start dialing it down. I'm not judging or being haughty. Just trying to add to the conversation in a helpful manner.

To put it another way, if you're a single man and destroying your house after an LSU loss, no biggie. It is what it is and you'll handle the consequences or adjust accordingly. But if your wife is freaking out, then maybe you need to reconsider.

ETA: I've done the same or worse than you. Just be glad that your program is elite. It could be worse. You could be a fan of Tulane and UVA

Got to be able to control your anger. We all blow our tops, but the key is controlling it. You can't beat yourself up over something you really can't control. I go thru the same cycle. It's tough for sure.

I think a man is entitled to behave exactly as he pleases, so long as he doesn't break the law or injure others. In fact, I would say that is the essence of manhood.
So you live by this perverted existential ethic, but you draw your arbitrary line of acceptable behavior at "breaking the law?"

I don't understand the "find something else" and "it's just a game" comments. For some people, they have other hobbies (e.g., fishing, hunting, working out, yard work, etc.), but for some people they have Sports only as their hobby. LSU losing or playing badly (for OP) is like missing that big fish or deer for others.

I speak from experience, however, that OP needs to find some other way to channel his anger. It took many arguments with family members and scaring my son from screaming to change my behavior.
