No kidding. There's basketball and baseball too.

I have told her that I am passionate about very little in life. Outside of her
I'm not sure you are serious, but if you are passionate bout your wife then what's the hard call here?
Calm yourself down so that both of you can enjoy LSU football together.

My wife is kind of the same way.
I tell her #LSU4LIFE and our lives revolve around LSU football.
It is just a way of life.
But I don't throw anything anymore because I have to pick up the mess

I used to be the absolute worst person to watch LSU football with (not really with baseball), but I began realizing that family and friends never wanted to watch with me, so I did a few things to help.
1. I record the games, do stuff around the house and start watching later when I can fast forward through shitty moments.
2. I listen on the radio instead. I know football pretty well, so listening helps me avoid seeing too much and just enjoy the outcome.
3. Watch a recorded TV show and keep up with the game on my phone.
4. Just walk out and calm down.
I still talk a lot, but I don't throw stuff or scream curse words at the TV anymore. Plus, being in my mid-20's now instead of 18-20 has helped too. I'm lucky though because my wife's grandfather (who she watched football with for years before we met) was just like me. I washed dishes, cleaned the house, and washed clothes during the Bama game this year.

My question is this. Should I make a concerted effort to tone it down in an attempt to be a better husband, or should I continue going with my motto of "hey, if it doesn't really matter who wins to you, then don't freakin watch the game".
Of course you should tone it down. You're letting a game , played by kids 2 decades younger than you, determine your mood. Get a grip

Sorry, had to run to Office Depot to get a new computer, because the comments sent me over the edge.
Based on the responses to this thread, I really am going to re-double my efforts to not act like an a-hole during LSU games. I really am surprised that fewer folks that replied don't get that pissed themselves. The fact that I am surprised tells me I'm in the complete wrong here, and she's on point.
To the posters that made comments like "loser" or "started the thread to attention whore/gain affirmation", y'all couldn't be more wrong. I'm actually an educated, functioning, successful guy, and I really am surprised at the lack of assholery by other fans during games. So much so, that again, I'ma make a better effort to act right.

BTW, one of my best friends, age 46, is not ever going to atch another LSU game in my presense again.

y'all need to get over that shite, doesn't make you more of a fan, and eventually, you'll find yourself watching the game alone

After an LSU win, try this: get up early the next morning and look into the eastern sky. Notice the sun rising.

He's just a pretty standard angry football fan, the likes of which can be found in any city in America.
No argument there...and this type is kind of a tool, and without a doubt a fricking bore to be near while attending games.
I respect your takes on things, 312, but this is the kind of bullshite that idiot drunks run when they assume everyone in Tiger Stadium is similarly fricking shitfaced and acting boorish and therefore their antics are acceptable. It is (and I can't believe I have to point this out) possible to be extremely loud, extremely vocal, and extremely supportive of the Tigers without being a drunk dick or so uncontrollably emotional that you're a raw nerve ready to freak out at a moment's notice.

I need advice, and will hang up and listen.
Quit acting like a psycho. You're the worst kind of fan to watch a game with, and you do ruin the whole experience of everyone else in the viewing area.

No, but I think I piihb after drinking with Lincoln one night, circa 1984.

Shoot brig, you sound madder than I get. Congrats!

Come to the realization that neither Miles, his coaching staff, nor his players take football games too seriously and it should be easy to not get so emotionally invested in the game.
