My theory is that Linehan was brought in specifically to coach up Brennan.

Look at the guy’s history of developing and utilizing great passers. He doesn’t generally deal with dual threat quarterbacks and read options and gimmicky play calling. We know O is all on on the “win now” philosophy. I think he scoured the list of available coaches for somebody who could turn his unproven pocket passer into a sure thing. I predict he is only here for 2 years.

Agree. Myles throws a lot of check down passes. He doesn't slide around in the pocket to buy time for the longer routes to develop. These are things that will need to change. He is the whole key to the season. The big question is, can he grow a little bit every week ?

My theory is that you suck at theories and are worse at trolling.

Brennan just need to trust his teammates, they will make plays for u, but he has to go out there and sling it with some trust and have a lil swag also

You should think about pursuing coaching.

Why do you need a theory? What about the possibility that he was brought in to be the passing game coordinator? It doesn't have to be complicated.

It’s like all the “I bet they told him he’d be ‘coach in waiting’” posts we get every time a coordinator stays for awhile (see Aranda).

Nothing is ever as it appears on the surface in RantLand. There’s always something more behind the scenes.

Yup they brought him in on a multi year contract for the sole purpose of coaching one QB

Most of his action was seen behind a backup OL. When defenders are essentially running unabated at him, he is supposed throw to his outlet receiver.

LSU has a quarterback coach already. In fact, it's listed on their website. His name is Steve Ensminger and he is also the offensive coordinator.

Furthermore, Linehan was hired to be the passing game coordinator, which means he is responsible for coaching the receiver corp and for assisting the offensive coordinator in game planning.

Of course, Ed O is above it all, but at the same time, Linehan will work for offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger. As Steve Ensminger is the guy Ed O trust to be in charge of LSU's offense. In fact, Ed O calls him his general.

slinger bleeds Purple and Gold. He has proven it’s not about the money as Aranda made more than twice what he made during Dave’s tenure at LSU. Love Slingers attitude and statement that he doesn’t have an ego !!!! What a humble and great man !!!

You've determined this by the limited playing time that he has received in "mop up" duty? I mean his job to simply run the offense and not force the ball while maintaining the comfortable lead. Trust me, he can stretch the field with his arm

It’s college football. It’s always win now. Guys are gone after 3 years which most only play 1 or 2 of those years.

Oregon brings in Linehan and tells him that is his job description will be to work under Ensminger. Pretty simple.
