So that's it. You wrote the book on Nuss based on the performance, conditions, and circumstances of the Arkansas game his true freshman year?

Whole bunch of words you put in my mouth there. I was inferring to him leaving Max off the potential starters considering he is our starter right now. And for some reason he put the QB behind him on the depth chart?

Go pine for Taysom Hill some more, weirdo.

Max struggled this year but don't give up on him… I have been critical of him at times, but we'll see what different coaching does for him

I think TDP goes pro. I realize he won't be drafted very high, if at all, but RBs have a short shelf life and he fits the mold of an NFL back.

QB- Max then Nuss after Max loses us a game RB- TDP/Emery/Kiner WR- Nabers TE- Mashburn for run plays, Johnson for passes LG- Martinez/Jones C- transfer pls (don't want freshman emory jones at C) RT- Maybe Kardell? or Campbell (don't really love a freshman starting on the line) DE- Ojulari NT- Guillory/Roy DE- Smith WLB- Mike Jones

I can agree with Max at QB with a legit shot with a good scheme.

I think Mashburn can turn into an underrated receiving threat. He was a run first QB in HS and can move.

As I mentioned in the OP, the o line is a toss up but I do think at least one of the freshman will be starting whether that’s Campbell or Jones remains to be seen. I also totally forgot about Hill and Bradford.

If we switch to a true 3-4, I don’t think Ojulari is big enough yet to play DE. I think he’d be the Jack/Rush OLB. I think Roy and Smith would be the two DEs and Guillory in the middle.

So you want to judge Max under a good offensive Coordinator but not the same for Nuss?

I am not sold on either yet. I will like to see what happens in the Spring when we have our staff put together.

Its still very much possible that we take on a transfer QB or Walker Howard comes in and outshines them both.

The QB position is far from determined at this point.

I do not see TDP or Flott coming back.

Running back I expect Kiner to be the guy next year unless Emory sticks around and becomes eligible.

Linebacker is also a good position to watch along with Offensive line. We could see a lot of new faces.

Max will be a Junior this year. That's when many QBs come into their own. His brother is also a top TE commit. BK is not kicking Max to the curb, nor should you want him to. For goodness sake, he just won the A&M game on perfectly thrown ball while getting hit. Also, I think he was third all time in number of TDs thrown in a year. It's his job to lose.

Do you think we go after a guy like Gibbs who was really high on us during the recruiting process?

I think he could excel in BKs offense and just add more depth and competition which is always good.

Its possible, I would like to have him as well. It never hurts to have 3 or 4 good running backs but that really depends on how our recruiting class turns out.

Touché. I think we def go hard after Brule because our lack of experienced depth at LB and Clark and possibly Baskerville leaving for the nfl.

It’s an exciting time to be a Tiger fan! Cannot wait to have a hard nosed, disciplined, angry football team again!

I think trench play is my biggest excitement though just based off past BK teams, especially along the O line.

I would be shocked if Flott returns after the way that he played this year on the outside.

You are asking all the wrong questions, friend. It doesnt matter if we think Nuss will develop. I'm certain he will, as will Max. You can only start one QB, so has Nuss shown you something to make you think he's a better option than Max at this point? The answer is very clearly no.

The Nuss obsession is weird.

“Ooooh ball go far, ball go spiral”

No shite. Nuss does a horrible job protecting the ball. He's a gunslinger that hasn't yet learned to minimize risks.

With Johnson, while he takes too many sacks, he's not throwing a ton of INT's. Learning to fix Johnson's flaws are easier than fixing Nuss'. Give the kid some high percentage, no read routes, and keep developing him in the film room to allow him to get through progressions, and he'll be just fine.

So I gather from you and other posters that tight end Kole Taylor may see his playing time greatly reduced.

It appears Mashburn and Jake Johnson are projected to get most of the snaps at TE.

I wonder if Taylor will remain at LSU. He did catch a key touchdown pass in the Tigers' 28-25 win over Mississippi State.

Man I'd love to see Howard work with Boutte, Bech, Nabers, TDP and Mashburn in some sets.

Could max protect with Mash/TDP and have three routes. Give that freshman some time and he will carve people up!

On defense I can't wait to see Toles and Sage get a lot of PT and be in the mix. I think they can keep our standards up.
