I have thrown some names in here that we don’t have yet but would have we would go after in the transfer portal.

QB - Johnson/Nuss/Howard
RB - TDP/Gibbs
WR - Boutte
WR - Bech
WR - Smith/Nabers
TE - Mashburn/Johnson
LT - Dellinger
LG - Martinez/Bradford
C - West/Jones
RG - Hill
RT - Campbell

O line is up in the air and could a bunch of different ways. My combo could be totally off but I feel like could work well.

DE - Smith
NT - Guillory
DE - Roy
WLB - Ojulari
MLB - Jones Jr
MLB - Brule
SLB - Penn III/ Jones
CB - McGlothern
S - Ward
S - Toles/Davis Jr.
CB - Flott
N - Ryan

In this scenario I have us landing Brule and Gibbs in the portal. What say you rant for your 2022 starting 22?

I thought this thread was going to be about walking on and trying to be a starter. I'm only a little let down

The Nuss obsession is weird.

“Ooooh ball go far, ball go spiral”

Did y’all watch the Arkansas game?

With better play design I think Johnson takes the next step.

Everybody star gazes too much..

Johnson is a solid QB. I will wait to judge him whenever he isn't under a terrible coordinator. Similar to Damone last year

No offense, and not saying I’m a guru, but 90% of the people here lack the acumen to tell you whether or not the QB is doing his job. shite, a lot of them are still crying for O when it’s apparent his players made him look good. The fact that he bowed to fans and local media for Nuss to start shows he had no idea what he was doing and also lacks conviction in what he was paid highly to do.

I bet TDP is gone. I think he proved that he can run the ball if given some room to run. And, RBs careers don’t last very long, so he probably should go in the draft.

QB- Howard
RB- TDP/Emery
WR- Boutte
WR- Bech
WR- Nabers/Thomas Jr/Smith
TE- Johnson
LT- Campbell
LG- Bradford
C- Hines (still has eligibility no reason to leave)
RG- Martinez/Thomas
RT- Dellinger

4-2-5
SDE Gaye
DT Roy
DT Smith
WDE Ojulari
LB Baskerville (still has eligibility no reason to leave)
LB Brule (Transfer from Miss St)
CB McGlothern
CB Flott
NB Ward (like him better at NB than a true safety)
S Ryan
S Burns/Matthews
Langlois is a guy I expect to make an impact in secondary next year too.

If Brennan walks, I think Kelly brings in a QB from the portal to bridge the gap. Max only stays if it's a Max, Nuss, Howard QB room. Nuss and Howard aren't ready yet.

I'm very anxious to see if a new staff can expedite the QB development. If teams around the country can run out 1st year starters or freshman at QB, we should also be able to.

Offensive line and LB are also 2 positions that deserve attention.

Soo no Johnson at Qb, Walker at Qb and no Johnson at TE?

Explain yourself.

QB. Johnson’s job to lose
TE Johnson

I wanna see how Howard does — when he’s getting hit in his twice fractured fibula by SEC lineman & backers—- I think he’s too fragile to take the SEC heat. I wanna to see a fresh eye— as to our QB’s abilities— I think Kelly is awesome at evaluating talent.

QB - Johnson (after seeing what Kelly did with Jack Coan, I'm not giving up on Max, though Howard is a wild card)

RB - Emery or Kiner (they'll split time; by the end of the season Kiner emerges as the workhorse)

WR's - Boutte, Bech and Jenkins (with Smith, Thomas, Nabers and Palmer all rotating in)

TE - Mashburn (who turns into a star, while Johnson emerges quickly as a capable #2)

LT - Bradford or someone from the transfer portal (LT is a frontside tackle with a left-handed QB, remember)

LG - Xavier Hill or Emery Jones (or somebody from the transfer portal)

C - Dellinger (or somebody from the transfer portal)

RG - Martinez

RT - Will Campbell

SDE - Masson Smith

NT - Guillory

DT - Roy

RUSH - Ojulari

LB1 - Mike Jones

LB2 - Aaron Brule (can't imagine we wouldn't reel him in)

LB3 - Greg Penn or Josh White (if White could by some miracle get healthy; also, Harold Perkins if he comes could play here)

CB1 - McGlothern

CB2 - Flott

NB - Raydar Jones or Denver Harris (if Harris comes)

SS - Sage Ryan

FS - Jay Ward

We need to max out the portal, and if it was me I'd take 3 offensive linemen, a tight end/H-back who can block like crazy, a defensive lineman, Brule and a DB who can play nickel.

Having watched both Nuss and Johnson it was clear to me that Max was better. If max plays vs Arky we win that game. Those are just my opinions tho..

I agree with most of this except:

QB- Max then Nuss after Max loses us a game
RB- TDP/Emery/Kiner

WR- Nabers
TE- Mashburn for run plays, Johnson for passes
LG- Martinez/Jones
C- transfer pls (don't want freshman emory jones at C)

RT- Maybe Kardell? or Campbell (don't really love a freshman starting on the line)

DE- Ojulari
NT- Guillory/Roy
DE- Smith
WLB- Mike Jones
