And those came after 3 seasons of bringing LSU up from the ashes. O should be fired, and optics be damned. Worrying about optics is what got us to this point into the first place.

yep. O has crashed the jaguar. i won't call it a ferrari anymore. but it is not a YUGO. I am disgusted our streak of winning seasons with saban and miles has come to an end.

Alleva has to go. The BOS has to get rid of him or they look just as incompetent. They are the ones that approved that terrible contract. So it really falls on them too. However, they are too connected to get removed at this point. I'm not sure who has the power to get rid of the president but that guy needs to go too. Everybody that was apart of killing the golden goose needs to be cut from the University.

I agree. MSU was a wake up, last week against Syracuse was a realization, and this week should begin movement. Nothing will happen this week or next , but 0-8 in the SEC maybe unforgivable. Only reason O got the job is because no one believed this was a rebuilding job. I give it to O being a good snake oil salesman and running a 2 year plan to take control.

First, thank you for sharing the info as we all need a little hope.

Secondly, there's no way O survives a winless conference season and 3-9 overall, right? No way can he sell anyone that our talent is that bad for God sake. I don't think anyone thought we'd contend for the west this year but this is inexcusable. As for all the folks saying "we're young", ok fine, but shouldn't we be getting better as the season goes on??

There's no point bringing him back if we go 3-9. Next year will be a lame duck and just another wasted year

(An awful lot of LSU posters were happy with O's hiring on the rant. The Coaching Changes board was in full blown melt / revolt)

no. no reason we should not have at least 8 wins this year with a PROVEN HEAD COACH. O is not proven however a losing record is just disgusting. clean house.

First...thanks for pointing out the fact that this was never ever billed as a rebuild project. That bit of revisionism is making my eyeballs ache.

Second...I saw someone suggest this last night, and I've always felt it in my bones but never had any real proof...but are you suggesting this was a bit of a coup? I hated the hire of O even as a position coach, because I simply never trusted the man and was worried that, at best, he'd do something dumb or illegal and get us creamed by the NCAA. But after Miles was fired after 4 games last year, I immediately assumed to myself that O had been working behind the scenes toward the end of the 2015 season, all off season and right up through the AU loss to take over if the move was made mid-season. Only reason it eve made any sense to can Miles mid season like that, is if you already knew what you were gonna' do.

Is there talk about this?

Makes sense that alleva mindset was that this was not a rebuilding job thus O could manage it. The team played well last year if we're honest. But one off-season and the team reverts completely to O's ole Miss squads.

So now we know it's a rebuild. Interesting to see how quickly the bos reacts to the realization that hiring a retired dline coach with his prior sec record was a massive mistake. Economics will impact it same as Jimbo debacle. Sad times.

Two year crazy genius coup? You give him too much credit. Man is not that intelligent. Economics involved on big names. Remember the budget BS and optics of buyouts with a state budget crisis.

Not sure shrimp boat captain could spell coup.

Completely agree. I think most folks would have said 7-8 wins would be expected this year. No way does Troy or Syracuse have the talent we do. In all honesty, we should have probably lost last week too.

The team looks worse each week. That's not youth or lack of depth. No reasonable person was thinking championship contention this year, but damn we aren't one of the worst teams in the country either

Yes, he was unemployed in 14and was a guest on Panomsky’s morning radio show. The show then began to open advocate for O for DLine coach. Then in 15 he gets the position and the propaganda chief started really pushing the Miles needs to go narrative. At the same time, apparently coaches started talking about being disgruntle. Looking back I believe this was lead by Wilson and O. Miles keeps his job. Wilson exits. If Wilson stays he would have become Interim coach. Miles faulters and O and Ponamsky pushed the coup. Ponamsky get a senior position in football ops. The dude knows nothing about Football. Then local media narrative was for O to keep the job immediately. Everyone knows the rest.

Bottom line is this was careful orchestrated plan. It’s more than O and Ponamsky, there is a section of Bos that likes having control over football. O and Panamosky basically gave them this opportunity.

Consider this Ponamsky is a convicted felon and basically bought his way into LSU through his “recruiting website” and then on to the radio.

I’m not saying it goes back that far with O, but Ponamsky’s goal since his conviction has been to get as close to LSU as possible. I never understood how a guy convicted of Fraud could get this type of job, but when you think about it. It does make sense.

This feels all very 1914. Someone needs to take a crap on Goebbel's car to let him know what we think of him.

And Justin Fuente may have been the backup option if jimbo doesn't accept. This is where shite hit the fan.. miles carried off the field saying bye accepting what it was and only at Lsu he's back the next season. We all knew it deep
Down then it was gonna get ugly
