I find that absolutely shocking.

Try this...either on a piece of paper or just in your mind, start putting together a list of football coaches names you'd like to see as your head coach from the best to the worst. Doesn't matter if they are attainable or not.

So you've got Belichick, Saban, Meyer, etc. Doesn't matter...just keep writing. Head coaches, coordinators, etc from both college and pro.

Now...how far do you go before you write Ed Orgeron on that list? 100? 200? How far would you realistically have to go before you start dreaming up solid position coaches...?

Is there any universe in which you could not have found a coach far higher on your list that would have taken the job for what we were offering before offering the job to the DL coach on your staff who's only true head coaching experience of his own program was an abject failure?

I seriously can't for the life of me figure out how anyone with even a small amount of sense would have seen this as anything but a gigantic gamble at best, and a sure fire awaiting train wreck at worst.

I was OK with it thinking since he did a fine as an interim he could be a decent placeholder until a home run hire came along. I sure as hell didn't think he would destroy the program by October 1, nor did I think Alleva would give him a $12 Mil buyout. I mean the whole program being completely destroyed in a matter of weeks like this was unfathomable to me. It was a failure of imagination.

There wasn't ever a lot of support for O on this board. Not sure how it was in the real world. Many (like me) were willing to give it a shot and see what happened before sharpening knives.

I've seen enough. I thought the MSU game might have given the staff reason to tighten up but it looks like it just scared the hell out of them and they have already given up.
I'm actually talking about the BOS/Admin. who were in on hiring Alleva.

I never thought it would work. Any organization needs a strong leader, whether it's a football team, corporation, school, etc.

If an organization could just use a cheerleader as the leader and put more money toward good underlings, then every organization in America would already be doing it.

It doesn't work. The top guy needs to be a strong leader that sets the entire tone and attitude for the organization. Talented underlings can do great things, but you've got to have a strong, respected top dog.

BOS and the AD’s office absolutely hates Saban!!’ I am not joking. Saban did not play games when it came to the program. Many were glad when Saban left. Miles was a guy that would not rock the boat and O was the guy that gave the politicians all the power back.

You are absolute correct LSU needs a strong leader that will not bow to political Bs, but drag them where they need to be kick and scream if need be.

Looking back I believe this was lead by Wilson and O

They do have a long history. It would also explain why Wilson escapes criticism for his last recruiting cycle when the propaganda machine points fingers at everyone else.

Yup!

Seriously, why does Mickey Joespeh have a job at LSU? He is not qualified but it made Nola coaches happy. Also our WR are even worse.

Makes zero sense. Fire Jaluuke because he's not up to it. Fire Ball because he can't or won't recruit. Bring in Robinson & the running backs - except Williams'- as a group are playing badly. Bring in Mickey Joseph & we have "no talent" at receiver and the best WR's prospects in NOLA commit elsewhere.
Bring in Pete Jenkins and Aranda starts fielding his worst defenses. Every move O has made has had a negative impact somewhere.

TAF has a major debt service that will not allow a football program collapse

frick hiring O being a bad decision who the frick approved a 12 million buyout?

Especially since LSU should have had all the leverage in the negotiation. Just mind boggling.

When will last night's "tension" translate into quantifiable actions, i.e., removal of Joe and O? What has to happen next?

I’m really curious as to how the governor weighs in with them privately. He maybe the biggest LSU footbAll fan governor since Huey P.

If this is correct, then from what I hear on TD boards, that may be his only redeeming quality.

John Kerry is a better negotiator than Amoeba.

The way I understand it is King had more influence over the Coach O hire than Alleva himself did. In other words, Alleva was nothing more than a puppet. If that's true then how the hell could LSU reasonably recover if both are not canned? It's more like Alleva is the scapeboat and King survives fricking the program up even more. Alleva sucks and we all know it. He has since the day he got hired by LSU. That said, no change is happening if they ax Alleva and keep King around.

Yeah, because all that other silly "education" stuff that a university does is just background noise and unnecessary

I mean, Frank might be able to actually coach football, which would be a plus. But it seems like, with the way the state is structured, that unless we get a super powerful alum who will come in and clean house, we will always have to deal with these retards.
