Go pound sand. Dawn Staley constantly foments this crap.

I think your point is 100% accurate. People are going to try to sound like a tough guy and roast you, but at the end of the day they see it too.
You can love the intensity, grit, player/team loyalty-but at the same time be aware that many times her responses to the media are cringey to watch and she talks herself into holes that could be avoided.
Much love for Kim and my Lady Tigers but lets call it what it is

Staley should have apologized. It was her player that took things to far.
Mulkey is standing up for her team and player when SC crossed the line.
It is really that simple.
The media and yourself get caught up in all the fluff. Meanwhile, Mulkey is sending a message to her team that we will not be intimidated.

Who cares what you think Slippy Slippy. Amazing to me that no one in the media is calling out the one (and only) who started the altercation, the man/girl amazon Cordosa, who could have seriously injured much smaller Flaujae. She was the only one ejected. Because that was an assault. This is not the first time she has done it. She has anger issues. Staley should suspend her the rest of the year.
Majority of LSU fans love Kim exactly the way she is. Kim, the Uconn coach, and Saban are similar, they tell the truth, don't try to be politically correct, and don't care what other people think (especially the liberal, woke media and their moral superiority). She doesn't have anything more to prove to anyone. She has fulfilled her promise to LSU, won a Nat'l Championship. It's refreshing she is genuine, authentic and doesn't beat around the bush.
She has been an elite coach for almost 40 years and a HOF coach. I will give her the benefit of the doubt every time. If I was a player, I would want my coach to stand up for me. I support my coach 100%. Love her exactly the way she is. Keep on fighting Coach. She is perfect for LSU. Well, this lit a fire---our family just decided we will be increasing our donations to Coach Kim and our WBB.

quote:Then there’s no problem. She could have taken it a step further and mentioned how that trash arse program has a pattern of this kind of thing but she didn’t. What you saw and heard Mulkey say is the high ground no matter how much the media wants to spin it otherwise.
Her comment was 100% true

She doesn't give a shite what social media and the ever virtue-signaling media thinks or says about her. And she has the decades of success to allow her to do so without any fear whatsoever she may lose her opportunity to coach because of it. So why should she care? Are LSU fans going to suddenly stop supporting her team? Perhaps a couple of losers who are more concerned about internal feelings of moral superiority will. But everyone else who enjoys watching winning basketball won't. And why should she give any scintilla of a shite if a fan in Iowa, Arizona, Nebraska, etc, doesn't like her? She's the coach for LSU.
But you know what does matter? If her players respect her. I guarantee you that intensity in her team is burning high right now and, in part, that is because they KNOW, without any question, their HC is with them in the fight and not afraid to tell anyone that.
That wasn't even really a "fight". It was a little bit of talking, pushing and shoving. ANYONE who has played competitive sports knows that sometimes that controlled aggression you have to play with boils over. If that never happened to you then you either never played sports or where happily a benchwarmer. Actual fights in basketball were WAY more commonplace than they are now. And the coaches in that era weren't PR conscious pussies about it.
Over the last 20-30 years society has allowed the PR conscious losers and everyone-deserves-a-trophy mindset to permeate into sports. Those are the ones "appalled" by the event. But anyone who is a competitor knows things like that sometimes happen. Whether it be on the floor of the SEC Tournament or the YMCA down the street. It gets cooled down and people go back to playing without feeling the need to apologize and justify getting a little overheated in the moment. Hell, I got into fights with some of my very best friends on a basketball court...and we are still great friends because we knew is was just emotions boiling over a bit in the heat of the moment...not personal hate or dislike of one another.
Mulkey grew up in the prior era. So she feels no desire to have to apologize for being a competitor. No does she feel a desire to be silent when asked about it.

The correct thing for you to do, everyday, is to stop posting. The media is after Mulkey because she didn’t go all in on being outraged over Griner’s imprisonment in Russia. They will continue to go after her. If it wasn’t this, it would be something else. Support this championship winning elite coach and stop posting nonsense.

What? Her players did nothing wrong. SC players were the the aggressors. Don’t give them a pass, intimidation is their style.
Of course they didn't...no elbows, no hair pulling, no shoves before the squirmish, no smack talking, no nothing the entire game, 100% all SC.
Did I get the narrative right?

I'm confused. Do you want a society where people constantly are lying to each other?

Exactly.
Her job isnt to appease the media, her job is to get her team ready to play. This time she sent that message through the media to her team.

Goodness no. Say what you want about her but she is not oblivious. She just doesn’t give a shite what anyone in the media has to say about her

Get that pussy rhetoric out of here.
LSU and Mulkey did nothing wrong.
If you wanna be offended then go march on Washington or something.

Why does it matter? She does not need to pander to the audience or the masses. Maybe she didn't feel the need to apologize. Perhaps she enjoyed the fire and fight in her squad. She is authentic and there is much value in that.
