I thought Tyrus Thomas would have a better NBA career.

I get a lot wrong, but I was positive he would be a bust. Go back and watch film from that Final 4 year, not sure he hit a single shot beyond 4 feet all season.

Garrett Temple and Danielle Hunter were two that quickly came to mind.

One other would be Russell Shepard. He mainly survived due to special teams, but I never thought he'd even make a roster. Played for 7 NFL seasons.

I remember the year we played @ A&M at 11am and Mcray literally had like 22 tackles. He was good.

McCray’s last season was 2009, he never played A&M. He was an UDFA, no one thought he’d have a decent NFL career

Eugene Daniel was an undersized CB at LSU. He never even made 2nd team All-SEC. He was drafted by the Baltimore Colts in the 8th round of the 1984 NFL Draft and was named a starter as a rookie. Only Johnny Unitas, Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne played more games for the franchise.

Todd McClure, played 13 seasons in the NFL.
McClure was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL draft. During training camp of his rookie season he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and missed his entire rookie season. During his second season he took over as the Falcons starting center after Calvin Collins was moved to guard. Since then he missed only one game and was the Falcons starting center from 2000 until his retirement after the 2012 season.

Danielle Hunter's greatest accomplishment at LSU was somehow convincing people that his first name was pronounced DA-NEEL

Garrett Temple, coming in at $53 million for his career earnings, fantastic. Dude is a worker. 38 years old and still banging in the league.

Russell Gage - he didn’t seem anything special, solid athlete, but somehow managed to get serious snaps at multiple teams.

He must be an excellent student of the game. His LSU QB’s also didn’t help.

Since no one has mentioned him……

Naz Reid

Dude was the 6th man of the year this year and has progressed every season.

Another one is Al Woods…

Good but not great at LSU. Played in the NFL 14 years and was actually cut by the Saints his 1st year

Shepard & Gage both vesting & having a taste of success even was very surprising to me.

Garrett Temple is probably the answer though.

Honestly Brandon bass playing 12yrs & earning $38mil defies 2nd rd odds too.
