It's the best LSU coaching job since LSU won the SEC for the 2001 season in football.

DiNardo and Wade would have been a better comparison because both followed bad coaches and turned the team around pretty quickly (though Wade has had less talent obviously). Miles had a very good first year, but LSU was very successful when he took over and absolutely loaded with talent.

One had to deal with a major hurricane and had his team playing for an SEC championship.

Say what you will about Les (and yes I felt it was time for him to go) but never question the job he did as a coach and a human being in that 2005 season.

Lol, that is absurd. Wade has taken an underperforming team to the next level. Miles took a loaded program and underperformed. Exception for the perfect storm at the end of 07. Miles was an eyelash away from having the college program with the most NFL talent and NEVER winning a National Championship.

Miles = Curley

Wade = Saban

I agree wade has done more with less.

miles was also one game from having two national championships. To even mention miles with hallman shows how incredibly fricking stupid you are. Miles also got that NFL talent here.

I’m on record as wanting Miles fired.

But, he never got the credit he deserved for 2005. Winning the SECW and holding the team together after Katrina and Rita may have been his best coaching job while at LSU.

I’ve never understood the hatred Miles got for this game. Given the circumstances, it is probably the most easily forgivable loss in his tenure.
