So not winning the West and not making the SEC championship game is an improvement over winning the West? Lmao and as usual you’re wrong about the guys who returned for 06. Andrew Whitworth, Kyle Williams (both all pros), Skyker Green and Claude Wrotten are prominent players who’s last season was 05. BTW You’ve moved the goal posts you’ve posted incorrect facts and I’m still waiting......

Krags got Parks disease and Studs took over.
It wasn't an Orgeron type promotion as Studs came up under Meyer and was a very successful OC at BGU for 4 years with 2 or 3 nat ranked top 5 offenses after UM went to Utes.
Studs earned his stripes.

Rantards despised him and made fat jokes, but he's back with Meyer again, prolly making jokes about LSU admin along with the rest of CFB.

you have to forgive peej. he doesnt even really follow lsu football. he actually wondered why i told another poster," we didnt go 9-3"

I wonder how what type of season we would have if we didn't have Waters? We were lucky to get him since he first commited to Georgetown, but Wade has maximized this team to their fullest potential. And in the last two games (Missouri & Vandy), I have seen improvement on defense. So this team is still actually improving..

We were picked to finished last in the SEC.. So as for as outside expectations, we have really done well... Miles had an impressive 1st year (especially when you think about the two hurricanes that interrupted the beginning of the season), but with what both coaches was given.. By far Wade.

reasonable assessment. i think everyone expected 05 lsu to be good and we were.
no one expected 2017 lsu basketball to be anything but garbage. wade has definitely shined.

Well the schedules aren’t identical, but the poll voters all voted LSU higher in 06 than they did in 05. That is an improvement.

Being ranked higher in the polls is also a fact, a concept you continue to struggle to fully grasp.

Well I was talking about the high first rounders you took the time to specifically list out, but yeah those other guys were great players obviously.

But the loss of Williams and Wroten is mitigated by the improvement of guys like Dorsey and Jackson on the DL as they stepped up.

Skyler was injured throughout the 05 season and the year improvement from Bowe, Davis, and Doucet, plus the addition of Lafell in 06 more than balances that out, in my OPINION.

Whitworth was a huge loss, no doubt, but Ciron Black stepping into his shoes as an All SEC and future All American helped mitigate that as well.

Not to mention the progress made by Russell from 05 to 06 was the biggest difference on offense and the unit as a whole improved in 06 despite the loss of an all time great like Whitworth.

So, again, you stating that 05 was the most talented roster ever is an OPINION, and one that I disagree with.

05 russel was no where near 06 Russell.

personally ill take the 06 roster because of the qb play.

First off polls are opinion SEC West titles and championship game apprearances are tangible things. It seems you’re the one who can’t grasp reality from subjectivity. And guess what, all those guys you’re claiming cancel out or are better than the players who graduated in 05, they were also on the 05 roster so all you’ve done is prove my point. Now you’ve used opinion disguised as fact, you’ve moved the goal post and you’ve tried to derail the topic but you still haven’t given a roster that was more talented than the 05 roster. Still waiting...

You’ve got to be kidding. Miles was handed the keys to the kingdom and he brought that program down to his coaching level. Wade was handed a dumpster fire.

Same QB Rick his development is more about coaching than the players talent. I said most talented roster not most productive or most polished. Those things have more to do with development and coaching than the players athletic ability. For example regardless on who had more stats I’d much rather have Kyle Williams, Claude Wrotten, Glenn Dorsey, Charles Alexander and Marlon Favorite as my 5 DTs than Dorsey, Alexander, Favorite, Ryan Willis and Al Woods, which are the DTs that saw time in 06. You have better quality and more of them in 05.

Not trying to diminish what Miles accomplished, but wasn't it that very UT game where he tried to call timeout immediately after an interception late in the game? This coming after a game where he ran a fake punt out of his own endzone and had an enormous comeback and threw a hail mary on 4th and 10 from midfield. Those first two games definitely foreshadowed the highs and lows that would come with Miles.

I get what Madking is saying. Sure the circumstances surrounding that game were not ideal, but we were up 21-0 at halftime at home against a Tennessee team that quite frankly was not very good. Miles deserves praise for the season as a whole, and I do think by the time the SEC CG came along, having no bye weeks definitely took its toll. But for that individual game, I can't really give Miles a pass for that one.

Wade. Miles inherited a very talented football team and underperfomed. Wade inherited a broken basketball team and is putting the pieces together.

And I wasn’t even trying to bash Miles. I said he had a very good first season besides the Tennessee game. These people want you to blow a guy for losing a 17 point lead in one quarter to a 5-6 team with no QB. They also want you to believe that for 3 quarters the hurricane didn’t affect the team but in the fourth all of the sudden the hurricane caused the loss. We choked that game away no matter who was coaching or what happened a month before in New Orleans.

he inherited a roster where a coaching staff of Saban, jimbo, muschamp, and smart had just lost 3 games the season before.

we were preseason 5th in the country and we finished 5th in the country

Improving from 9 - 3 the previous year to 11 - 2 was underperforming? Followed by a national championship two years later?
