I’m sure y’all have seen the back-and-forth on stats that they have been having at these pressers. I thought this was great..

Buddy asks Lane what type of impact the green dot on the helmet has had since implementation.

Ready to see this offense!!

It’s the player that has helmet communication

Of all the negative things that could affect Ole Miss with the new OC, I think this is the one people are spending the least time discussing. It may not be in the talent that they have the drop-off; it may be in the recognition, simplification, and support through direct communication after the play is called but before the snap that affects them the most.

Haven’t you heard?? Whiskey Pete was running offense, defense, special teams all while calling portal and high school recruits during TV timeouts! Lane was just in the way doing blow and texting college chicks on the sidelines! We got fooled!

Ole Miss has a good OC who runs a similar style offense to Kiffin (worked under Kiffin). They have Chambliss and Lacy as well, they should be pretty good.

Other side of that coin is Kiffin will definitely be helping Baker on that gameplan

Let's go beat the shite out of them and mercy knee.

Conversly, we should see a huge improvement in this area as opposed the the previous few years where we seemed to always be spending unnecessary time-outs because of slow/poor communication.

Can't wait to see how Ole Miss tries to spin how it wasn't because of Lane and Charlie

Lane explained it a little deeper than matchups last year. Might have been when he was still at OM or right after he came to LSU. He said these modern offenses are designed to put a player in conflict and the QB has to find that conflict spot. They find a safety or a LB and put them in a situation that they have to make a decision A or B and the QB has to react to that and exploit it.

They usually find a numbers game due to an expected blitz or lineup issue and find somebody that has two responsibilities or may miss a coverage. People may get tired of the motion and shifts but that is what it is all about.

It is not just Lane doing this but he and Charlie seem to be well versed at it. This probably has a lot to do with Lane running the same plays from 4-5 different formations.

Maybe some people are overlooking how big it was to keep a guy like Charlie Weis Jr.

He interviewed with the eagles and lane said other teams were coming after him.

Just being able to have that same operation of kiffin, Weis, and quarterback in the first yr coming into a new team is huge.

As well prepared as Buddy Songy has been for the pressers, Mascona has been equally unprepared.
His question about injury updates at the end of the press conference pissed Kiffin off, as it should have….he’s mentioned multiple times he isn’t going to answer the freaking injury questions so why do it?
Is Mascona a little butt hurt that Buddy is asking better questions so he wanted to get some attention back on himself?

another point worth noting was the brief one year collection of the minds of Lane Kiffin, Kendall Briles, and Charlie Weiss Jr at FAU in 2017. I saw a story that said Lane was always good at throwing the ball but he really improved his running game with melding his theology with Kendall Briles running game. Lane and Charlie have been able to keep that up and maybe improving it some.
