Exaclty. We were 12th in the country in offensive yards per play but we were 105th in plays ran so it made our totals lower.
Our 2013 offense was one the best offenses in cfb.
No it wasn't. We were 58th in the country in points scored... with the best offensive talent in the country.

If you have the best talent, you would have to think that you should be in the top 10% statistically. And before you bring up SEC schedules, LSU was 7th in the SEC in points scored.

Guess what: With the exception of the QB position, our talent on offense this year is greater than it was in 2012. Let that sink in for a minute.

Nah man. Read my sig quote. Robbbobb says fournette will be used against lsu in recruiting because he is not being "utilized"
We overplayed him in the 3 game losing streak. Made the offense less varied and diminished his effectiveness. "Misusing" or "not taking advantage of" would probably be the correct term.

In a way that is misusing him nearly as much as having a sub par QB trying to throw to All-American wide receivers.

I rather see LSU go back to more of a rb by committee and featuring the outstanding wide outs again, more than forcing a heisman.

At the same time, I recognize Fournette is a rare and special talent and getting him the most touches possible is ideal. He is always a threat to house it. I just like to see us better as a team though.

The "running back by committee" thing works, but Les Miles was substituting the running backs every other play in years past. The first few games of this season was exactly how he should play it, giving a running back all of or most of a series, then subbing in a running back for a series. With Fournette give him 2 series in a row at times.

During the losing streak he went in the opposite direction and played Fournette almost exclusively. I would love for Beefense to defend that.

Top three receivers in the NFL game tonight were all from LSU over the last 4 years:

323 yards and 3 TDs combined

0 major bowl wins in College - thanks Les.

Yes it was. We were 9th in points per play and 12th in yards per play. We don't run a bunch of plays so our totals are low. Educate yourself. Using totals as measurement of success is ignorant.

You can hate all you want our 2013 offense was one of the best offenses in cfb when a play was ran. Only 11 other schools in all of cfb gained more yards when a play was ran but we were 105th in plays ran because we don't run A HUNH. People that shite on our 2013 offense are proving their football ignorance.

3,000 yard passer, 1000 yard rusher, 2-1000 yard receivers is not pitiful. It was actually an SEC record. You are a full fricking retard.

Great stat!! And where did we finish in the SEC West? The SEC? The National Championship race?

Underutilized talent. Just like our current receivers and tight ends.

you really are an idiot.

the stat shows how they were all utilized just fine. You don't set that record by under utilizing players. Offense was not the problem as many have already stated.

We had no D.

But keep hanging on to your strawman and pushing your agenda.

I hate our ignorant and entitled fans. 9th in points per play, 12th in yards per play, 20th in offensive points per game and all our dabs can do is shite on it.lsu has the absolute worst fans on the planet.

Mett had the 2nd best passing season in lsu history
Landry had the 3rd best receiving season in lsu history.
OBJR had the 4th best receiving season in lsu history.
Hill had the 2nd ( now 3rd)best rushing season in lsu history and set the sec single season ypc record.

AND YOU CALL THIS PITIFUL?

God our fans are insufferable bitches. I've never, in my entire life, seen a fan base more willing to shite on its own program's accomplishments.

Dumb. The reason you sub for Fournette is when he is tired after 4 carries or so in a 6 play stretch or something similar. During our losing streak we were going 3 and out, Fournette was getting one or two carries then going to sit on the sidelines to watch the other team's offense march down the field and score touchdowns. Then after a tv timeout following the extra point, Fournette was plenty of rested to go back out and run a couple of plays before we punted the ball 29 yards downfield.

Per play...

one would think with such elite talent that the offense would want to run as many plays as possible because over the course of the game our elite offensive talent would pull away from inferior talent.

Don't forget that after the shootout in Athens, Les decided to go into stall mode and tried to protect the defense by slowing the game down. The stats back that fact up, starting with the Florida game.

Plenty of things to complain about regarding Miles' philosophy.

2013 offense is not one of them.
