I'd rather rugby

I have always thought it would be hilarious for an amateur to show up for a match dressed like a pro wrestler. Carry a chair or something to the mat. LOL

Rugby, both 15s and 7s. You have the NOLA Gold professional team down the road, and Houston Sabercats also in region.
With the rise in popularity with women's rugby thanks the Olympics, you can start a companion women's varsity team to get past any Title IX issues. A good medium would be a Men's 15s program and Women's 7s program.
LSU's had a successful club team since the 70s and they'd have a built in fan base. Recruiting would also be very easy with the talent in TX and LA. Even as a club sport, LSU rugby draws in out of state and occasional out of country students.
Lacrosse is another easy choice, especially with the recent boom at the high school level.

Follow up to my previous post. Establishing a varsity rugby program has another distinct advantage as Men's and Women's Rugby is not sponsored by the NCAA at any level.
No NCAA, no NCAA rules.

Bring back wrestling.
LSU had a heck of a wrestling team back in the day. Kevin Jackson wrestled for LSU then went to Iowa State when LSU abandoned it's wrestling program. He was a 4 time All-American in college and won the Gold medal in the 92' Olympics.
My son wrestled in High School, graduated in 2020, he won the State Championship is Senior Year at 126lbs in the top division, beat a kid from Brother Martin. There are relatively no colleges in the South that have wrestling programs. Missouri is the only SEC school that has wrestling and they are a good program but they were in the Big 12 before coming to the SEC, they are still in the Big 12 for wrestling.
He had several scholarship offers but they were all D-2, D-3 and NAIA in the Mid-West area, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas. They were mostly private schools that were expensive as heck, and he decided not to go into debt just so he could wrestle. It would be good for some more schools to pick up wrestling, it would give more kids in the south a chance to wrestle. It's such a good sport, it teaches discipline, self-control and humility. There is no one out there to help you, it's man on man and may the best one win.

Men's soccer.
If LSU could keep its local (state) talent, it would make the NCAAs every year.

Flatulating, it's a minor sport, but with gas prices the way they are, it could explode at any time

Wrestling. My son loves LSU, but didn’t go because they don’t have a wrestling program.

This. Would be nice to be able to follow LSU grads in the MMA ranks.

Soccer is the gay and no, we don’t need a team. Africa, South America, and a bunch of other countries that are too poor to widely play sports that require more than a ball all have huge soccer fanbases and pro leagues, you should keep up with them.

None.
Let’s put our emphasis and especially our money on the ones we give a $;@t about.

LSU has both a lacrosse team and a rugby team. They're both "club" sports rather than NCAA sanctioned sports, so you don't really see much about them unless you're in the group that makes a point to follow them. Back in the 80s and early 90s, just about everyone else HATED to face LSU's rugby team. We had one player, whose name escapes me, that was simply BRUTAL in the field. All I remember about him is that he was in his mid to late twenties, had long, blond hair, and was RUTHLESS when he played. He broke many, many opposing players and teams singlehandedly.
