Miles was in Birmingham over the weekend speaking to SEC referees. One of my vendors is a ref and told me Miles brought the house down. Just funny as he could be. Came to the podium with some sort of cape on and dropped it and had full referee outfit on.
BTW,Sid Ortis' parents introduced Miles at that conference in Montgomery yesterday.
Wish I could have seen that. Pretty cool that Sid's parents introduced him.

Miles going into the broadcast booth would be an instant boost to employment. Interpreters and analysts would would be in high demand to figure out and report on what the heck Miles just said. I do wish him well.

I do as well. I think he was a good guy. Just too hardheaded to adapt to changes in the game.

Well, this is certainly a distressing and depressing development.
After being let go as LSU’s head coach, after he failed to find a seat on the latest spinning of the head coaching carousel, it was assumed that Les Miles would find a spot as a college football analyst on one network or another.
He's a bad coach and an idiot.
Who thought he was going to be hired?
seriously.

That unemployment move saved the college football viewing public a lot of grief and anguish......

It's not that he doesn't want, it's that they don't want him.

. The job market didn't align well for him last season with most of the big job openings looking for a young "hot" name.

Coach A talks like what most would call an idiot and has this resume:
141-55
1 national title
2 conference titles
Coach B talks like what most would call an idiot and has this resume:
22-29
As a neutral fan, which seems more hireable?
I'll hang up and listen

Miles wont be anywhere near a broadcast booth if they listened to his interviews. They were quirky when we were winning, borderline retarded when we weren't.

I'm sure he will be just fine with the $134,000/mth from the LSU teet still flowing.
Ought to be coming out of Alleva's pocket.

His buyout clause requires that he actively pursue other employment opportunities. How hard is he really looking?

Dude makes millions to do absolutely nothing. Why do anything

"Makes millions to do nothing". Yet, he's an idiot? And I heard it was $175K a mth, for several more years. Wonder how many idiots make that?

Cptbengals and others like him calling people "idiots" under the masking of a sports blog is a demonstration of idiocy.
Admit that Miles' syntax and cryptic use of the English language makes one feel like they were trying to solve a riddle at times. He communicated at times like he wanted to give honest answers while also protecting from giving out information he preferred to keep in house from the media.
But he's NO Idiot. Cum laude Econ majors at Michigan tend to be rather intellect. Once the "coaching cloud of secrecy" was lifted once fired from LSU, he has been refreshingly engaging and funny as hell in his limited speaking engagements

He's a smart guy that is mediocre at coaching football.

For what it's worth, a mutual friend recently told me that Les has a six month gig with Occadental College in L.A. That apparently starts in a couple of weeks.
