How big of a problem was Tommy White?

To be fair, I don’t think Tommy White was ever considered a leader or culture guy. He’s probably someone who benefited from having good leaders around him last year, if anything. If Neal was as good as White, he would’ve been an everyday starter and returning to LSU next year. You probably wouldn’t be hearing about any locker room issues with him.

Got it, it’s only people that make “big moves” to go there because their athletic programs are typically full of local kids otherwise.

It sounds like we should be really concerned about Dean Moss already.

Regardless of where it was said, imo it reflects poorly on them. Does he think he’s going to leave and go to a team full of friends? No, either way he’s facing some change. How about showing some leadership to the new kids coming in and work on your weaknesses at the same time? I think we are seeing why this team struggled, and that to me is there was not a true team, just a bunch of individuals. Maybe that’s what Jay meant by having “too much depth”. If every player thinks they should be the starter, you are going to have problems.

This is a really good post. Couldn’t agree more

Come exit interview time, there will be many bitter former players leaving CJJ’s office it seems, including some that have no inkling that their world is about to change.

CJJ will likely suggest/entice some draft eligible sophomores to take the draft money and the pitching staff will be more than half turned over, including some high projection guys [b]ex Moffitt(sp), Coleman, possibly Guidry even transferring out.

You think you’re the only one who said half the team needed to leave during a 3-12 SEC start?

You and half the rant.

What’s your full real name? Since you are so eager to prove you were right. And that you’re not a pussy to let everyone know it.

I also don’t think you know what “out loud” means as you type words online that no one can hear.

He probably wants a shot to play infield which he won't get here. He turned down close to or over $1M to come here and as a draft eligible sophomore, I didn't expect to have him more than two years anyway. He pitched in some big games and won a ring. Hope he stays, but if he doesn't, I hope he is successful where ever he ends up. No reason to be bitter.

The part where you chose to remain anonymous after saying you weren’t a pussy for posting the same thing hundreds of other anonymous people have posted.

We are owed explanations for when players leave. This is a big time program not some small school. If you come here you're in the public eye...its a different responsibility and you have to be more transparent with those types of decisions.

Not that hard to understand. Keep up Simple Jack.

I'm a big fan of Frey. He was hitting really well until he hurt his shoulder. If Jones goes pro, there is a spot at 1B that he could take over.

But with the portal, you can't fault these guys for leaving and getting playing time at other schools. When you are a top program, you'll have a lot of competition for playing time.

No we aren't. And you repeating it doesn't make it true. It just makes you sound like a whiny bitch.

Saying it over and over doesn't make it true.

Not true at all. Players can leave for whatever reason they want and are under zero obligation to tell the fans why. Maybe Neal thinks the sun is too bright in Alex Box. Maybe he hates the bullpens being in foul territory. Maybe he hates the concessions. Maybe one of the other players stole his GF. Maybe he's homesick. Doesn't matter why he is leaving. He didn't like something about the situation and he decided to try his luck elsewhere. He gets to do that whether he tells you why or not.
