This thread will end quickly now that a quote from Mike’s actually vet has been posted.

If anyone from PETA is reading this, congratulations on grooming a portion of the LSU fan base.

Not sure it is in the animal's best interest.

Sure. If we never want to have another Mike ever again.

Why would that at all be the case?

Was he on the field with 90K+ people screaming and fireworks going off?

Yeah I seem to remember the fireworks were the main issue that ended this tradition. Plus Mike VI would rarely go into the cage to begin with and they wouldn't force him to go.

If Mike wants to go then bring him in.
If Mike is pissed and wants to be an introvert then leave him be.

After the A&M game last year he was outside in his enclosure and didn’t appear scared or nervous. It was cold and wet and he still came out to see what was going on.
I have hope.

Wife went to LSU Vet School. She said Dr. Baker is beloved and is a great man so definitely gonna be missed.

Any chance we can get Mike back in the stadium before games now?

Id rather have the "why don't we play neck" threads than these. Get over it people.

Looks like PETA has groomed a lot of posters on here.

looks like you're the typical mouth breather who would believe the cat's presence make a difference one way or the other.

I think we should let him roam free pregame in the stadium! That would really get the crowd going!

I read that it was the pre-game fireworks that ruined the pre-game Mike. If they did away with those, I believe that they could bring him back. I don't think he minded the normal pregame stuff, and roaring his arse off in the microphone in front of the visiting players.

That is so stupid to me. It’s wrong to parade an animal around a stadium of screaming fans, but it’s okay to have humans play a sport in front of fans that causing physical damage to the body and brain.

It really is a shame that we don’t do this anymore, but it’s never going to come back.

Yes it's a shame we don't scare the shite out of a captive animal 6 times a year for our own pleasure.

Imagine yourself in a cage surrounded by 100k roaring tigers, without the brainpower to know wtf is going on. Clearly a pleasant experience.
