Its a real thing. 30 years ago , Mike on the field was considered the best tradition in college sports and the Pita fruits got laughed at for suggesting we change it. But now we're all woke and consider ourselves smarter and more moral than all the people that came before us, so mike on the field is bad, but all the other societal ills are acceptable.

Exactly. BTW we are not "all woke". The same fruits are just fine with killing thousands of birds of prey in the name of "green energy" but reeeeeeeeeeek if they can prove any death of a snake, lizard, bird or insect on a drilling location.

Also, it might not be acceptable these days to display Mike on the football field but make no mistake the very fact that tigers are endangered in the wild makes having a live tiger mascot at LSU a good thing for the long term survival of these beasts.

Well he chose to go in the cage or not. The last Tiger had an option to choose. If he went in the cage, they would bring him to the stadium. If he didn’t go in the cage, they didn’t force him.

How does it scientifically harm the cat. dont give me the stress angle bs. You dont think it's stressful living in a fish bowl with literally millions coming by his habitat? Quit being a pu$$y.

I was a student at the vet school. His courses were very tough and he expected a lot out of his students. Much respect to this man and what he did for the university and that extends way beyond his work with Mike. God bless him

Looks like PETA has groomed a lot of posters on here.
Most of the time, I think PETA is nothing but a bunch of overreacting bitches, but in this case, I do agree Mike should not be forced into that cage and on parade; it was fine back in the day when Tiger stadium was half the size it is, but now in front of 102,000, that's a pass...

Didn't UGA, the Georgia mascot, die of a heat stroke a few years ago?

f I was locked up in an enclosure for years, I would love to be paraded around and taken into Tiger Stadium.

Mike’s original cage was about the size of the trailer, so getting in it was NBD.

Nowadays, his new pad is substantially more luscious.
