Seeing that Middelton Library will probably get a name change.
If ever the day comes that Coates Hall gets renamed I hope we call it David Pollack Hall

Maybe now they will finally tear down the Huey P Long Fieldhouse.

I don’t think there is any racism in Huey’s past. Indeed, it was his courting the votes of the poor, of any color, that put him in power.

Change the name of the PMAC

It’s amazing all these changes are happening nationwide because two former club bouncers had a score to settle.

How bout they change the walls, floors, roof, and plumbing when they change that name

To remove the name of the hero of the WW2 Battle of the Bulge is unacceptable for the Ole War School.

Woodward needs to put his foot down and slap some sense into the academic side.

WTF? What did Middleton do that was so bad? He was only the 3-star, VIII Corps Commander under Patton's 3rd Army. Patton had nothing but admiration and affection for Middleton as a combat leader.

He is probably accused of saying something racist.

I don’t think there is any racism in Huey’s past.
Besides, there is newsreel video with audio of Huey Long giving a speech where he uses the N-word several times. (Or, I may be thinking about his brother Earl giving a speech.)

Wasn't Middleton president of LSU in 50's & 60's during civil rights era? Fought against integration.
Don't kill the messenger.

LSU only listens to money. Alumni, TAF Members, and boosters need to talk with their wallets. Stop spending money on LSU and they will get the message.

That was the norm back then. So many “good, decent, Christian” men and women actively and passively fought against equality and human decency. Pulpits were silent on the issue of not just racism but the subjugation of blacks. Goodness knows politicians were cowardly about race and oppression.
Yesterday (June 11) was the anniversary of JFK’s nationwide address on the moral imperative to address civil rights.
Of course Nixon later used it as a wedge issue in his famous “Southern Strategy” which still is in full force.
