If they get rid of Middleton, I want to see the removal of any association with William Tecumseh Sherman as well. He should easily be considered a war criminal by the current batch of snowflakes.

Speaking of snowflakes, I've always found it interesting just how hard people fight against anything on LSU's campus being named after the first superintendent of the school.

And David Boyd (namesake of Boyd's Hall) fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy. Hell, the entire LSU Tigers mascot is from the civil war. I guess that all has to go.

We should not name any building after anyone anymore at LSU.

Just call Middleton Library “LSU Library #2.”

Virtually everyone who worked at LSU before the Civil Rights era was a segregationist. Either actively or passively, they aided and abetted the unfair policy. Strip all the names and do not replace them with naming after people.

No one is virtuous enough to have a building named after them anymore.

I thought Middleton was slated to be torn down in a few years?

I wish. It’s an awful eyesore in an otherwise beautiful area of campus.

Since the politically correct/woke and unreconstructed Confederates won't go along with naming the Military Science Building after him, I have a modest solution...

we get a M-4 medium tank...no Fireflies or 105mm howitzer variants allowed...LSU had them on campus during WW2...

so we can set up a nice plaza and have the Sherman Memorial Tank!!!

To remove the name of the hero of the WW2 Battle of the Bulge is unacceptable for the Ole War School.

And Middleton was the Chancellor that transformed LSU from a 3rd rate shite hole to one of the best public universities in the South in the early to mid 20th century. Also, LSU became the Southeast’s largest university and it was like that for sometime. Also the Valley became the largest On campus football stadium in the SEC under General Middleton. It was years before Tennessee surpassed LSU’s Tiger Stadium. LSU could have easily clipped Bama’s wings after the World War I & II. It was for the taking.

The confederacy itself was criminal. You could say the same for the U.S. dropping two atomic bombs on Japan. It ended the war. General William T Sherman is an American legend. Sherman’s Scorched Earth military strategy ended the worst and costliest era of US history. Hell I wish LSU would do more to honor Sherman. He was close friends with David Boyd.

What Public school in the South didn’t fight against it? It was the norm. LSU also was at top of its historical ranking among Southern universities under Middleton. School expanded to the largest in the Southeast. Compare LSU to other Southern schools back then to Today. LSU was a better school all things relative back then compared to today.

It’s going to be sad when the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial are torn down.

Right, Woodward put the racist hate group BLM On the Athletics home page. He has no balls either.

Hell many of us LSu students of the 90’s wanted it torn down as well. The LSU Main library should have a similar look to Hill Memorial Library scaled to size.

No. Saying "Black Lives Matter" is (1) smart right now and (2) speaking about a fundamental truism. It does not mean that we are going to support the people who will organize around that fundamental truism and bastardize it to fit their political agenda.

Nothing right about openly supporting a racist, terrorist group. You’re insane. Read the BLM agenda and come back and tell me it’s smart for any sane person, much less LSU, to support such hate and propaganda.

Don't kill the messenger.

LSU integrated without incident.

He wrote a letter to his counterpart at UT Austin where he said black students didn't room with white students or use the pool.
