Why do you have such a boner for hating on LSU/Will Wade?

I suspect he is one of those guys who gets excited and pleasured when he is abused. He rushes to interject himself into every story hoping for gratification.
Watch the pattern.

Apparently, LSU is a Nike school. Who knew! I have yet to see any information or heard a substantiate it fact that would convict Wade of anything. There is nothing. Move along.

The criticism is that the Advocate could have reported the facts of the story without sensationalizing the headline, and is completely valid imo.

That doesn't make Dawkins Wade's middleman,

It doesn’t say Dawkins is Wade’s middle man, the headline is not sensational you guys are just reading that into it so you can blame or attack the media for reporting news that you (and I) don’t like

All the fricking names and accusations that have come out in this trial and the Advocate and everybody else is still focused on will Wade!!! frick them and frick the advocate!!! I'm so damn sick of hearing Will Wades name associated with this shite storm it's making me nauseated!!! Especially when everyone else gets a pass, Michigan, Alabama, NC State, Kansas, Duke and etc. Get off the Will Wade bashing or show some GD proof!!!

They’re a business and their job is to draw attention to their content. I get that and don’t fault them for it. But ask yourself this question. If you read that headline and knew nothing about the story, what inference would you draw? It 100% is a sensationalist headline. Their intent is completely understandable from a business prospective but there’s also nothing wrong with calling it for what it is. They want the casual reader to be drawn in. Had the headline read “college basketball middleman convicted” not as many people would read it. But they bring LSU into the fold, and the common reader thinks “oh shite, LSU’s middleman got convicted?!?”

The level of delusion and vitriol towards the media (Dick Vitale doesn’t count as the media so rip him to pieces) for reporting a legitimate story is mind blowing and a bit scary. Personally I don’t care if Wade was “cheating” but unfortunately the NCAA frowns upon it so you have be careful. I also want Wade to remain our coach unless the NCAA has proof. But attacking the advocate or even Yahoo! for reporting is disturbing.

I dont know how this is only reasonable to 3-4 people

If I didn’t know anything about the story I wouldn’t know what the Will Wade wiretap scandal was so there would be no reason for me to assume the middle man convicted was Wade’s middleman

That would be stupid since it is a Baton Rouge paper and the important angle from a BR perspective is that LSU basketball coach Will Wade was involved

Again you are just reading into it because YOU don’t like the story

Why was Smart reinstated? His case was reviewed by LSU. His case was reviewed by the NCAA? They didn't say "we can't decide." They said "reinstate the man." Why? What was their basis for doing that?

Then we have the matter of Will Wade. Why was Wade reinstated? His case was reviewed by LSU. His case was reviewed by the NCAA? They didn't say "we can't decide." They said "reinstate the man." Why did they do that? What was their basis of action?

Now I don't expect you to answer those questions, H-Town.
I don't expect you to answer in part because you don't claim to be an investigative journalist covering the story.

HOWEVER,
I damn well do expect a hometown paper to ask those questions.
And I damn well expect a hometown paper to at least attempt to cover those answers, if it chooses to cover the rest of the issue at all.
The Advocate and its writers were lazy, dimwitted, and intellectually incurious in pursuing truth here.

We have a Baton Rouge paper "covering" a Baton Rouge story by basically cut-and-pasting Louisville narratives by Louisville sportswriters. I don't know that I've seen something that sloven and journalistically listless in print sports news for years.
The advocate has been pathetic!

It’s like you just read what you wanted to read and ignored the majority of my post. Otherwise, this post makes no sense because that’s, like, almost exactly what I just said. So is this your way of agreeing with me while still trying to argue with me?

No!

He's not reading "into it" at all. He's just plain reading it. It's a one-sided, lazy, unilluminating rewrite of last month's news.

This is what doesn't make sense to me with the idea that Dawkins was a middle man or the middle man for Smart. Wade is on the phone talking vaguely about the terms of the offer. If Dawkins was a middle man wouldn't he already know the terms of the offer to Smart? Why would Wade need to tell him that it was a strong arse offer?

Why Will Wade would talk to this shady-assed Dawkins fricker after it was well known that he was embroiled in scandal is beyond me. Like my grandfather used to say "if you lay with dogs, you are going to end up with fleas."

Very poor judgement on the part of Wade, IMO.

There, I feel better for saying that....now go ahead and knight up for his dumb arse.

Well you spouted off about tapes you never heard. Not talking about today, but from the beginning of this.

And I never said we didn't cheat. Just that I wanted our AD to have a little more than a Yahoo article to suspend him. You were completely fine with just a Yahoo article. That was enough for you.

A lot of the original arguments were about the suspension and Joe Alleva.

I don’t know, but Javonte’s mom threatened to sue the ever living shite out of them if they didn’t reinstate him immediately. Not saying this is the reason, but it did happen.

Of course he didn't, but he damn sure knew he was doing some shady shite and if he had no intention of participating in it, he shouldn't have even been participating in the conversation.

or that

You realize Will Wade gave back $350k of bonus money to LSU, and reworked his contract so that he can be fired easier, right?

And you are telling me i read into the transcripts of his communications wrong, or that it was wrong to suspend him? Lol wut. Get lost.
