According to this interview, PM asked the group who wanted to pitch and Russell Reynolds was the first and loudest to speak up.

That's awesome. As Reynolds was walking off the field during the 13-1 pitching carousel Kyle Peterson said most of the guys who pitched for LSU probably wouldn't have had a chance to pitch in Omaha if it weren't for the blowout.

Peterson seems to be anti-LSU and pro-everybody else. Maybe the Bayou Bombers from 1997 had something to do with it.

SLU's coach made the ump go check Reynolds hat and uniform for foreign substances, presumably accusing him of doctoring the ball in some way. Reynolds then rightfully called him a fricking pussy.
