But I was shocked when I got a tug on my shirt from the guy behind me asking if I could sit down so they could see.
had i really intoxicated 50+ guy in front of me you kept yelling at the people in front of him to sit down (and we were in the SE upper bowl, and you have to stand to see when they get in the red zone). The guy was so drunk he couldn't stand. Thankfully he left before half

Well actually you are physically able to yell louder/longer when you stand because the movement your diaphragm is more constricted when sitting (unless your seated posture is perfect) than standing.

I like to stand, but if everyone else around me is sitting, I'll follow suit. I'll stand up and cheer when something happens, but I won't be that one guy that's constantly standing if no one else is.

loud has nothing to do with sitting or standing
That is why 50% of Opera singers choose to sit (you know with their bad knees and backs and heaavy old bodies and all)

And it's always the "be respectful to others" crowd vs. the "The team NEEDS me to stand" crowd

now that i am older i don't always stand. sitting is what us old codgers do. however, when the people in front of me stand to cheer or watch a close play, i stand too. if the game is lopsided i may just sit and figure out what happened. there is no friggin' way i would ever tell the people in front of me to sit down. i'm glad that we still have lots of vocal fans that get into the game passionately. if i couldn't stand, i'd either sit the whole game or not go. i firmly believe it is your right to stand as long as it is in your space and wouldn't even consider doing anything except sharing my flask with them.

They pay good money to go to the game also. I'm glad you know people who have gotten kicked out. They deserve it. Have a nice day !!
So, when he offered to switch seats, the frickers should have switched!! That tells me they didn't have "bad knees."

Yeah those bleachers are in place so you can stand on them. They never meant them for sitting. If everyone around you is sitting and you decide you feel the need to stand, go stand in the frickin aisle, lease you a suite, or stand in the student section if you want to stand, because everyone behind you don't really go to watch the game. They buy tickets to watch your arse.

when i was a student, the thought of sitting during a game was reprehensible. but i'm long since removed from the student section.
Now that you mention it - I cannot even describe what the student seats were like (just numbers on a continuous concrete bench, but I just don't remember), because of all the games I was in the student section, I cannot remember sitting that much, even before the game started. I'm sure I did, but not enough to form lasting memories.
I was also, commonly, the only sober person in a 90 foot radius (perhaps an even larger circle at times).
Good times...

and sometimes the arse in front off you is worth watching...waited all night for a good stiff breeze to pick up the milf's dress seated infront of me...

LSU has a great culture of standing when it matters and sitting when things are totally under control.
It's the in-between times that some people may have different opinions, but I've always noticed, as soon as the front rows start sitting the middle rows follow suit.
