Not sweating him @ A&M
13-31, 117 yds.

Not even listed as a top-2 for starting QB position.

We’re gonna take some bumps, but BK will have us scrapping.
No doubt OL, QB, and WR play will be better than last year.

I ain't scared of them
(Thanks to Max for his time here though. I loved him as a player but he had peaked)

Me either.

This isn't a smear Max post but the kid just doesn't have the stuff to be an SEC QB. He had two years here and his first was better than the second.

I'm guessing Jimbo will go with Haynes King again but after his injury, who knows.

You have one guy that was injured albeit has more time in Jimbo's system and then Max.

Who's listed on the depth chart? I really don't know.

That other guy transferred, didn't he? I can't think of his name offhand.

ETA: Calzada. Says he transferred to Auburn.

I’m not going to sit here and say max was ever going to become one of the greats, it he threw for 35 TD’s and 7 ints in 14 games against SEC teams as a freshman and sophomore. Not to mention our atrocious pass blocking.

His first year was not better than his second. He is a competent QB.

This is just dumb. He had 27 tds to 5 ints last year with a garbage coaching staff. That’s literally the second best TD-INT ration in school history. I don’t think he’s an all star but some of y’all need to get a grip. What you should be focused on is that clearly Bimbo Fisher isn’t the QB whisperer people make him out to be.

Convenient that you left out his multiple TD passes plus about 120 yards rushing on 2 plays in the first five minutes of me watching this film.

Any rushing stats from him aren’t going to impress anyone, we know he isn’t very mobile. He is a guy who peaked early, he is a smart player but doesn’t have a big arm.

I think it’s predictable he is low on the depth chart, he would be here as well, dude is a great back up, as in he won’t lose you the game, but you won’t win because of how great he is.

Bro, just say you didn’t watch their spring game and only looked at a stat sheet.

You mean like when he threw a perfect pass to Jenkins for the game winning TD last year against his new school?

It's a spring game

Matt Flynn threw 5 INT in the spring game the year we won the 2007 title.

Calzada might wind up starting at Auburn, once he’s healthy. TJ Finley will wind up a FCS All-American at Southeastern.

Soft A&M D.

Brads a loser and will never see another down of a meaningful football game. Money talks for him and his brother

People tend to forget our OL was terrible with Max. And his running ability was average, not terrible. I don't think he will make it at A&M either, but I don't think he was a terrible QB at LSU.

2 TDs / 1 Int.

He only rushed for about 60 yards all game, with a long of 48. Don't know where you get 120 from and no one should care about running stats when no one is allowed to tackle you.

Max scrambled into a bunch of sacks. While our oline had some issues early on, by the end of the season they were solid. Unfortunately Max got worse as the season went on.

I wish him the best except when he plays against LSU. But this was a money play by the younger brother. A&M offered money and the little Johnson took it.

I root for Max. He brought energy, was a “gamer” and threw two of the prettiest TDs in recent LSU history: Fla and A&M. Only critique is that if you don’t have a big arm and succeed with “touch” you gotta be crazy accurate to sustain drives. I think he still has time to develop into a NFL back up-type QB
