When he got caught making a burner twitter and roasting Kenny Pickett and defending himself I gained slot of sympathy for Orgeron in that situation, this guy has to be a nightmare to deal with.

Also it's just so fricking dumb having your offensive line shift and run around so much. It doesn't help, it just tires out your big guys.

But when you run as many as he did, it has to be fast and the execution crisp. If not, you burn the play clock and the defense doesn’t necessarily buy any of it as potentially real. We had a lot of that the first few games that season. It took a while for them to get it all down enough to be convincing.

I remember Saban called it “window dressing”.

I always thought that was up there with Catastrophe Syndrome, Brook Trout Look, and Rat Poison for some of his best comments.

Since LSU fired him.

Maryland (2018)
Offensive coordinator & quarterbacks coach
Maryland (2018)
Interim head coach
Pittsburgh Steelers (2020)
Quarterbacks coach
Pittsburgh Steelers (2021–2023)
Offensive coordinator

He had a job immediately after he left LSU.

But getting fired by the Pittsburgh Steelers midseason(2023) is as bad a look as there is.

As bad as Canada was as an Offensive Coordinator,
as gimmicky as Canada's offense was,
and as bad as Canada was to work with,
you'd think Orgeron might have figured that out in an interview before Orgeron hired Canada.

You know, like all of the bad things he learned about Pelini when Orgeron interviewed Pelini.

And thank the good Lord that Orgeron interviewed Pelini before hiring him, otherwise Orgeron might have been dumb enough to hire him.

Didn’t Canada get the job because Ponamsky read he was good on this message board?

I read on here that Derek is still involved with Coach Obnoxious. Wonder if he’s plotting to get O his next dream job at Texas.

Why did Canada not work when he was scoring 40 points every game at Pitt. He seemed like a slam dunk hire at the time.

There’s a lot of revisionist history about Canada, put out by the Orgeron mafia. LSU lost the Troy game because of O’s messing. The 2017 offense was pretty good the last 5 regular season games. Canada’s scheme even outfoxed Alabama. The problem was LSU’s QB wasn’t good enough to get the job done in Tuscaloosa. You don’t become an NFL OC by sucking.

This.

Plus Canada wanted Brennan running his offense, not Danny Etling. O meddled in the Canada's Off and Aranda's defense. The CEO couldn't be a CEO and let his assistsnts do their job with impunity.

Thanks--I suppose Cameron coached for enough seasons.

I actually thought he was a few years older.

Legend has it that somewhere out there, at this very moment, one of Matt Canada's offenses is still going through its pre-snap movement.

This is funny, because I remember that in the first game Canada coached for LSU, the crowd cheered when the shifts and motions started.
