I watched the video, its a very short clip of him yanking a couple guys back from what he probably considered the area where lsu would get a warning for being too far out the dugout. Thats all he was doing,m. He didnt look dejected or happy or sad, he was just doing what he thinks one of a coaches duties are

He didn't look happy. Think about that

Are you insinuating he was purposefully sad?
Have you ever seen mainieri looking happy during a game? Does saban usually look happy? Im not sure of your point here

Which is sad. That should had been like #3 or #4 on his list
1 - he could have been banging those hands together in support of what just happened. Nope
2 - he could have went out in front of his players to move them back, AS HE waited to hug or high 5 an ecstatic young batsman. Nope
3 - he could have tracked down to coach up the next batter as to what to expect, now that the game had just flipped. Nope
4 - he could have waved to the LSU fans to get them pumped up even more. Nope
5 - he could have engaged the umpire staff to let them know he was in the process of handling the situation. Nope
instead, he pulled on players, realized they were ignoring him, and simply TURNED HIS BACK on that heroic moment. As to not even acknowlede its immediate impact.
Odd, very odd

of that entire list, which of these things do you honestly see him do on a regular basis after a homerun?
Posted on 5/11/19 at 10:58 pm to RobbBobb
I dont see it as turning his back, i see it as him going back to the dugout to decide on how to manage the pitching situation for the 8th and 9th

this point in this season is by no means a regular one, is it?
He needed to "coach", not simply walk away from that particular moment

Please don’t ruin my cough syrup. I swear it’s getting better. I’m only coughing on the weekends.

In what way do you typically see coaches coaching after a homerun?
Its pretty funny to me that yall are making this nothing into something all because you dislike the coach

I'm saying hes lost all passion.
He's not Saban. He hasn't always been like this.

What are they going to do? Take the home run away? Give the other team 5 yards or two free throws?
How many pages ...and still they choose not to answer?
Let the freakin umpire stop you. Saying “this happened last week” has absolutely nothing to do with what happened yesterday.
Roles reversed Arkansas would have done the same.

You have to remember that Louisiana is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to its education. Majority of posters on this board are from Louisiana. So, the board is heavily populated by pretty dumb people.
Ahhh yessss! The dumbass who woke up years later saying”what happened to our football program?” is now giving advice.
Get over yourself.
The umpires understand emotion and circumstance. He clearly was positioned to stop the forward progress of the players.
It would have been nice to see our head coach with a better understanding of the moment.

Pretty obvious you are above the majority of LSU fans which begs the question, what the frick are you doing being part of a base that is beneath you?

Saban would have been doing the most important thing to achieve victory. THAT’s what I want our coaches doing.
Mainieri is being criticized for coaching like Saban, which is stupid. He does not have the results Saban has, and THAT is what he should be criticized for.

This thread is hilarious to me. There are so many legitimate things to criticize Mainieri for but these numb nuts decide to take up their pitchforks because of things like this and facial expressions Mainieri has in 5 second clips of him sitting in the dugout during a 3 hour game.

Above the majority of LSU fans? Absolutely not.
Above your dumb arse? Absolutely.

Yep.
In all reality Mainieri was probably happy about the home run, and was reminding his players about some dumb rule. In the back of his mind he was probably thinking, "My pen has struggled in the back end of games. How the hell am I going to hold on to this one?" You know, he was coaching (which all these people are saying he should be doing).
If Mainieri would have celebrated and LSU would have blown the lead the talking point would be how he celebrated instead of worried about finishing off the game.
These people are sad, pathetic, and down right stupid.

Maybe Woodward has already told CPM that his coaching days at LSU are limited
We can only hope. I wish CPM would simply realize it is time for him to go and just retire. Contrary to what some of the CPM loyalists believe CPM has lost the fan base. If he stays on it will just get uglier and he will go out in a bad way. He should simply retire.
