Wait, that is what this whole thread is about?

The op is a drama queen.

At about the 19 second mark Mainieri walked up behind one player, tapped him on the back and appeared to say something to him. That played took a coulple of steps backwards towards PM who then turned around and walked back to the dugout while the team continued celebrating and waiting for Duplantis to get to them. Mainieri didn’t go “sulking back into the dugout.”

It's obvious that he told the one player to stop having fun.

It looks like PM just didn’t want them going too far out celebrating that’s all. He did nothing the OP said he did. This thread is fricking dumb

Agreed. But based on the upvotes for the OP there are now over 350 posters who will go forth and spread the word that Mainieri told his players to stop celebrating Duplantis’ homerun at Arkansas.

JML, can you figure out who the player is who Mainieri said something to? I can’t.

Still here

Interpret it how you will. The gif cuts off before mainieri is literally one of the only ones walking back in.

This is what I posted in the OP...

quote:

Trying to pull players back in the dugout who are celebrating. They didn’t listen and he went sulking back into the dugout.

Explain to me how that’s not exactly what happened

This isn’t true based on the video
He did in fact say something to a player
Unless you were standing next to them you don’t know what was said

quote:

They didn’t listen and he went sulking back into the dugout.

Again, you have no clue what was said, he then turned around & went back towards dugout

It’s fine if you want him gone, you are entitled to your opinion just as everyone else is entitled to theirs
But to act as if you saw something totally different than what actually happened is wrong
You led people to believe he physically tried to pull more than 1 player back into the dugout & again, it’s just not true

ETA

he should be getting everyone fired up

I don’t understand this
CPM has never been that kind of guy, it would be a valid complaint if he was & suddenly just started standing in the dugout but he’s doing what he’s always done

Acting as if he has had a huge personality change is not true & if I’m being honest the posts about him not being the same since his dad passed seem very insincere & for some reason it really bothers me that people use his grief & how he is or isn’t dealing with it as a “reason for him to retire”

He grabbed a guy by the shoulder from behind. I’m going to call that pulling a player. You can call it whatever you like. I think you are the one nitpicking here.

Link to where I claimed to know what he said?

Based on the fact that there wasn’t much of a response from the players and mainieri went back by himself I would say they didn’t really give a shite what he had to say. Again, interpret it how you want but my analysis is just as plausible as yours.

That’s my opinion. I understand if you don’t agree.

But what I stated before that (mainieri grabbing a player, etc.) were the facts of what happened. You are trying to spin those facts as much as you claim I am.

No, he didn’t. He tapped him on the shoulder.

And you would still be wrong.

You said he went “sulking” back to the dugout. That’s a Grade A drama queen statement. Mainieri walked back to the dugout after he spoke to the ONE player. It was the 8th inning. We still had to get Arkansas out 6 more times.

my analysis is just as plausible as yours.
No, it’s not. Not even close.

Did you just call me a drama queen?

You are shitting yourself because I said he grabbed someone by the shoulder but you think you can see in that grainy gif him tapping someone on the shoulder.

Go ahead and say he tapped him. I don’t give a shite. Whether he tapped him or grabbed him isn’t important.

So Mainieri “grabbed” a player and the player didn’t even turn around to see who was “grabbing” him? You’re just wrong and now you’re doubling down on being wrong.

My question remains: why are you lying about what happened?
